Hi there,
I hope you all are doing well. My traffic is much lower in June. Although I have written several new articles. Did any of you notice a decline in views?
Each Google update hits the niche sites hard due to the ads placement regime imposed by TAG, which lowers an article's status in the 'eyes' of the algorithm. Plus, the text is broken up leading to a poor user experience. These two factors undoubtedly play leading roles in the gradual decline of traffic. In a nutshell, it's a race to the bottom - change is needed but so far nothing has been done to reverse fundamental undermining.
Why don't HubPages management try to fight back? I mean, we are here to earn some extra money. Some of us really work hard, but we don't get that reward in return.
Yes. More ChatGPT like tool comes up, less visits to the website. I feel that is one of the reasons. For now there is not a way to address this.
Yes, I also think that because of ChatGPT, the authors have suffered a lot.
Yes, but it's on a downward spiral for two years now. Googles intention is to impose a penalty each time there's an update, on sites they don't like, until they're eliminated. That's my assessment. Just looking at some of the related discussions below, Paul Edmondson in one of them explained his thoughts on drop in traffic and what actions were being taken to try to find solutions:

Don't you think these changes are preventing us from writing more? It's quite a discouraging situation. It's important to find solutions as soon as possible.

There is a significant traffic increase for Hubpages - a 38% increase in one day! Was there an algorithm update? I happened black Friday - Squidoo did not see an increase.....http://www.quantcast.com/hubpages.com

Looks like HP and Squidoo have both suffered a 20% decline in pages views from the latest Google Panda Hit - early days of course. Ho Hum! What a bum!

I've been a HP member for five years now and have seen steady, but modestly increasing traffic and earnings until recently. My earnings are now close to what I was seeing three or four years ago. I thought maybe it was a just a blip that I could wait out, but it has continued for months, probably...

Just checked it on Alexa.com, and realized which (alleged) effect the Panda updates of Google has on traffic. Although I'm still happy with the traffic my Hubs have, are the foundations increasingly eroding. Are there any ideas to change this trend? http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/hubpages.com
