I thought there were only profile bios now. The latest Hubpages weekly newsletter mentions author bios, but haven't they been discontinued?

I'm not certain what they mean.

Unless its just the little bio we complete when posting an article, but I thought no one could see those now.

      Confused.

Now, when you click on the author's name above any of their posted articles, the profile we created on our HP profile page is what appears. The little individual bios they had us create a few years ago for each niche no longer exist.

I remember one of the LionsBridge survey which used to rate the blogs based on the "about me" page and the "Author bios". Now having that is going to be manadatory otherwise blogs and sites without "real people" out there would treat the site like content mill, which could use AI and other mass content. So I feel author bios are important now.

Profile bios are those that you create when you sign up to Hubpages for the first time. I hope all of you underwent that pre-requisite when registering for the first time years back.
These profile bios appear when you click on your Profile picture. You can edit the bio from time to time by going into your account and click on the Profile button there and then click the pencil mark visible there at the rightside of your bio.

I read this again. They say we have two opportunities to tell readers about us, but then they say author bios do not appear on network sites. So maybe they edited this and forgot to take out the bit about the two opportunities.
