Can you help identify the issues with the following article?
https://discover.hubpages.com/games-hob … s-under-30
I note that you have similar articles that are featured. So I presume removing the bold print would greatly help.
Do take note, though, you're writing for an international audience . So it's important and professional to state the currency. 1 US dollar is quite a bit more than 1 Australian dollar. To enhance your credibility, you ought to also state where these games are available at these prices, even if it's obvious to most PS gamers.
As for your respective descriptions of the games, personally, I don't have any issues with the over-enthusiastic tone. That seems the usual for most gaming articles. But to befit your title, you might want to write more on why these titles are more worthy of that 30 bucks than other discounted titles. After all, the PS store has so many below-30-bucks title on sale each day.
Thank you for your insights. I agree with everything you have said and will try to make changes accordingly.
"Heart-pounding," "buckle up," "jaw-dropping".
There's an overabundance of worn out cliches such as these. Also, the frequent use of bold face is a turn off for readers.
Because of these issues, I didn't get far into the article before bailing. I suspect the HubPages editors feel the same way.
I didn’t read your article in detail, but there’s another problem in it. The article contains far too much bold print. In my opinion, bold should only be used for a word or short phrase that you want to emphasize, such as saying that a specific liquid is toxic.
I agree with Rupert and Linda. As well as too much bold text and shouty cliches, there are also too many exclamation marks.
Enthusiasm is good but not to the detriment of useful information. There is not enough detailed description of the gameplay.
You should include the publishers' names and any other relevant info (publish date, etc.).
Oh, and don't use 'we'. The article is written by a single person, not a team, so don't pretend to be one
It could be a useful piece with a bit of work.
It sounds like you're selling these games. If you peruse similar HP articles, they describe how to win or get to the next level. I think HP wants the article to be unique without the punchy content.

I understand there's no reason to submit new articles to niche sites because staff get to those first, but I'm debating whether to go through my old articles to submit them. Is this something anyone here does with success?

Do you keep a backup of your Hubs? If so, do you keep it in your hard disk or elsewhere! Why I ask this is because I was writing for an online website earlier , before joining HubPages. I had saved the links to those 25 + articles that I had published there. Now when I click on those links , I get...

Recently, my articles have been rejected for moving to a niche site. The site I am submitting the articles to is ‘LevelSkip’. They always give the same generic response, saying that the issue is Experience Based Content. Experience Based Content is very problematic because it is unclear what it...
