Posting a link to an original article on HP to my website

    I'm in the process of building a website for my freelance business. I'd like to post a link to "How I Became Bravewarrior" because Bravewarrior is in my business name. In doing a Google search, I haven't found a definitive answer. If I do so, do I need to delete the article from HP first?

    Will Google see it as plagiarism if it's my own article? I know HP will flag it as such, but I'm not worried about HP; I'm worried about Google.

      Hello Shauna,
      We are allowed to post our HP articles anywhere else, as long as they are published here first. But not the other way around. If you can add a canonical link on the article on your website to say where it was first published. That will keep Google happy. I hope everything is going well.

    Shauna, I think you simply wanted to provide a link to your article. Or, do you want to include the content from that article on HP and then provide a link to your HP article?

    Because I have some links on my blog posts to articles on HP for long. They are always allowed. They are simply links for visitors who may like to go in detail for related content.

      Venatachari, I want to link to the HP article, not duplicate it on my forthcoming website. However, I'm reluctant to send visitors from my site and into HP. Something I need to think about...

    You can choose the option to open it in a new tab so that viewers can come back to your article. I do it like that.
