I've started the tedious process of moving articles to Wordpress from HubPages.  It'll probably take me several months because I'm a slowcoach.
Is anyone adding alt tags to images in addition to captions as they paste their images?
Also I'd advise pasting unformatted text if pasting directly from Discover, rather than from saved text files/PDFs. Otherwise it can drag in unwanted CSS clutter that can have unforeseen consequences. I ran into this issue yesterday when pasting a Facebook post to Blogger. Some of the text wasn't displaying properly in the blog. (I've been outsourcing design work to ChatGPT: it has created the HTML, CSS and JavaScript for a contents page on the blog, hamburger button, home icon and showing taster snippets on the homepage). No snippet was being displayed for the problem post because of all the Facebook formatting and extra CSS and HTML that got dragged in.

Yes, you want to include alt text, caption and description for SEO in WordPress.

        Groan, so that's half a year's work.

I notice the Wordpress editor has an AI Assistant button on the top toolbar that automatically injects alt text into the HTML for images. It doesn't show what the generated test is though (Had to use Inspector in Firefox to check what it was putting in the <Img> tag.

Edit: Actually I see the alt text is displayed in the Settings sidebar.
I reckon Wordpress is the most unintuitive and badly designed website I've ever used. It's like a collage of bits of UIs, stuck together over the years.

I saved mine in two apps. The first was a simple copy and paste of the whole article into Obsidian which is stored locally as markdown text. The second was using TheBrain (one word) where they are saved to the cloud. The articles on Obsidian include the comments and Q&As, which are very useful.

You should be able to view any web page/article in 'read' mode. At least you can in Opera and Vivaldi, and, I think, Firefox, which makes saving them to TheBrain really easy. However, as with any of these things, there's a learning curve.

It took me two days for each app to save 200-ish hubs.

Read mode helps you if you need a workaround for the Amazon links embedded in the content that prevent copying and pasting.

I've figured out how to use excerpts on my Wordpress feed so readers don't have to scroll through full articles, but does anyone know how to put a "Read more" link after the excerpt? The alternative is to add a "More" break block in the editor. Also I've edited the template for the home page and used the list menu to remove the "Content" block and replace it with "Excerpt" and this worked fine. Not sure whether that's the proper way of doing it.
I'm using the Twenty Twenty-Five theme.

I've been moving all my Hubpages onto my blog site, which is a tedious process but necessary if I don't want to lose my material. The irony is that traffic to my blog is now higher that it's been on Hubpages for a long time.

Once I've transferred the articles, I'm deleting them from Hubpages.

Should any of you Hubpage writers want to keep in touch, my blog's here: https://adelecosgrove-bray.blogspot.com

Best wishes to everyone writing here.

Best wishes to you, too, Adele. I am transferring articles to my original website, and it's starting to flourish.

By the way, I noticed you still have articles on some Niche sites: Owlcation and Hobbylark. Are you aware that TAG technically owns those and generates revenue from them without sharing it with you?

If you want those articles back, you have to email team@hubpages.com and request that they release them to the Discover platform.

Thank you for pointing this out to me, Kenna. I'll email them now.
