So who is ready for the upcoming competition?

Are you writing your hubs in advance or are you just going to wing it?

    Are you excited?

    Are you worried?

Or do you just not care?

I have kind of marked this off as a personal challenge, writing three hubs for each of the days topics, which should double my total hubs!

    This is gonna be fun!

      Good Luck, Oli!
I am sort of out for this one, not enough knowledge on the subjects. Disappointedly shaking my head in shame, I only have about three good ones in the health topic dept. in me total. And those are just life lessons, difficult to back 'em up with science and photo's. I'll be looking for yours though! big_smile

Hehe dont worry, most of mine are based on the group knowledge of wikipedia and Google!

Im going to go for a 3 a day submission rate also, but alas i do not have time to pre-write or draft anything out.

    So Ill be winging it!

But health and diet is the focus of two of my main sites, so at least its within my interests

    Good luck!

Damnnn that means I have some competition!

I tried with a health website once, I never really got anywhere with it though. This might kick it off again though!

Here Thisisoli, this thread was posted by Ohma, a tool to help with your plan, I checked it out, it is too cool if you didn't know about it already.

You can simply post other hubber's hubs. You don't need permission to place other people's hubs. smile

And, what's that suppose to mean? It was a normal smile smile smile

The same code works the same all the time. There wasn't anything slight about the smiley face.

Besides, I didn't lie. We are allowed to promote other people's hubs. There are benefits to promoting other people's hubs. smile

And, I just wanted to make sure you knew. You posted the forum thread, instead of post Ohma's link to her hub. So, I just making sure you know.

            No problem smile

I bet the competition is going to be really stiff, lots of great writers will come out of the woodwork !

My personal "health sites" are all specific to vegetarianism but alternative health /therapies and holistic companies happens to be the market I design and host sites for and i live in an area where reikki, yoga, veganism, mediattion, acupuncture and such are as normal as mcdonalds

the wonder wheel is useful, there was a thread that had tons of sources

Seen some forum threads related to topic ideas.

    Possible Inspirations:

    Yahoo Buzz

    Hubs Idea Bank

Brand New Commercials! i jumped on the 299 PS3 wagon the first day i saw an ad, for a couple of hundred dollars profit! (The wagon has left)

Twitter Trends ( Twitter is probably the fastest trending sources ever)

    Hot forum topics here!

Heres a good one, with the rise of the 30DC Challenge and Keyword Academy targeting Hubpages, you will see a lot of marketers hitting hubpages for backlinks, if you watch the new hubs thread....there keywords which are PROBABLY well researched will be plain as day in the URL and title...if you can do it better! jump on it.

News you see repeated in your facebook feeds?

These are just starting off points, but its pretty easy to find topics that are well searched and hopefully evergreen through some quick research and these sources.

    Got any to add?

I am very excited about the start of this competition, I do want to double check what the starting time is (GMT) for each day though!

should be fun. I have a couple ideas I already know I want to write about. I have other obligations, so can't write as much I would like, but love the topic!  We'll be a healthy bunch if we follow our advice. lol

I believe I'm up to the challenge, but due to time constraints, I'll probably only write on the last week's topics.  I can't get too excited about weight loss and exercise, but I'm interested in nutrition.

I wish the first week's topics contained the keywords osteopathy or chiropractic.  I could do especially well on those.  Oh well.

Re: the comp.  Say you enter but don't win anything: do you still get 60% of the adsense etc. on those hubs you've written, or is there anything in the small print to say that Hubpages gets it all?  I would be less happy to enter if I didn't get normal Hub revenues from any non-successful entries.

(I know I could just read the entire small print, but I guess someone will already know!)

You'll get the normal 60% of ad impressions. HP wouldn't stiff people like that!

    Name them, shame them!

A Susana said, you still get all your normal earnings as well, the cometition is just a (pretty darn good) bonus!

Dont believe I haven't won anything yet though *grumbles* :p

  16. Susana S profile image99
    Susana Sposted 15 years ago

Absolutely name them and shame them Oona! it will stop others making the same mistakes. HP is not perfect but I think they're pretty ethical and are clear about what contributers can receive.

To Oli - I keep thinking I've got to win one day surely! I hope you do too. I think voting starts tomorrow for the hubbers favourite entries, so maybe we'll be lucky there smile

Haha yeah, I can hope that I win one of the weekly competitions, we are up against stiff competition there though!

I might go for the sympathy vote, I am moving to america soon to get married to my sweetheart, but I hardly have any money, please vote for meeeeee!
