I mean the answer may be obvious and I'm oblivious, but why we don't we have a signature option in our posts? Almost every other forum I've seen has the option of some form of signature.
because signatures invite SPAM and we have enough of that here already. Real members of this site don't need a signature because they get all the Google love they need from their hubs.
What Richard said. You'll notice most of the forums which allow it are dedicated forum sites. They allow signatures because otherwise, no one would bother to take part.
We get a live link to our profile every time we post, and on our profiles we can promote anything we want - that's enough.
