    HI,

its evening here, Im sitting in bed with a bit of a cold.... but loving the sound of rainfall outside and happy to be snuggled up.

Melbourne australia here, 7.33 pm, hot lamb and vegetable soup followed by two big teaspoons full of chocolate and now in bed with a cup of tea and a big cotton thing to blow my nose with.

i am well, but my daughter is not happy she is supposed to be going over to a hen night in the good old u.k. tomorrow, and still does not know whether planes are going or not.  Of course she does not want to get stranded over there either.  When will it end.

       Good Morning.

What can we expect from this Irish?

  32. theirishobserver. profile image60
    theirishobserver.posted 13 years ago

Not great Earnest - but they would be more interested in the north and stalling certain matters......Cameron may want to be more progressive and work with Lib Dems...but he would have to give away a lot of power to Lib Dems and change policy.....the DUP would only be interested in matters relating to the North of Ireland....such as capital grant etc etc.....hard to call..

It's freezing here - the coldest May for 15 years, so someone told me yesterday. A couple of weeks ago I was wearing flip flops and now back to boots and a coat. Oh well! Apart from that, everything is great!

Morning Polly, Earnest and Lorlie - Lorlie - I planted three types - King Edwards, lovely for mashing - Roosters, great for chips - and Peers, lovely with salad - hope your garden does well - I am now also getting 11 hen eggs each day and two duck eggs from my brood - so eating real good smile

Morning Irish...sounds like you have a great outdoorsy kind of life. I'd love hens, but got a garden the size of a postage stamp and a cat - not a good mix! Hope your book is going well!

  47. theirishobserver. profile image60
    theirishobserver.posted 13 years ago

Hello Polly - I have 11 hens, 6 roosters, 2 ducks, cat, dog and all are doing well, hens are very easy to keep - you could keep one in a very small space - and they cost next to nothing to feed - they love kitchen scraps - I know space can be an issue - but the organic/free range eggs are second to none smile

    1. Polly C profile image90
Polly Cposted 13 years agoin reply to this

Yes, I always buy organic/free range eggs which mostly come from local farms, but still not as fresh as having your own - I know this as there is a little place near us with a children's farm, it has a run with hen boxes where, if you are very lucky, you can look in and find an egg that has just been laid. My son is totally obsessed with it  - and they are simply delicious! We're looking to move anyway, so maybe then..... smile
