Either I'm missing an option, or we need the addition of an option when it comes to putting links into the text of our hubs.
It's easy enough to use the links capsule and create links with appropriate worded link text, but I cannot figure out how to do it within the body of a text capsule itself. All I'm able to do is post the URL without a text reference (As in, click HERE, with the word "Here" being the link to the URL rather than the entire URL showing)
I feel like I'm doing a bad job explaining myself.
Anyway, either please make this option available, or someone point me in the right direction?
Lynda, there is a feature built-in to the text capsule that makes links in the text. It's the button that's fourth from the right after you click on the text capsule edit button and the controls open up. It looks like a little bit of chain.
And just to add to that, highlight the words you want to hyperlink, click on the chain, insert the url, and that's it.
OOOHHHHH!!! I see what I was doing wrong!!!
I would do a cut and paste of the URL, THEN I clicked on the little chain thing. I was not then able to enter the text I wanted for the URL... I see, I see! So, instead, I need to type a word, like "Here," highlite that word, click on the chain, THEN put the URL in when the option opens....
Right? Eager to try it. Out of time now, though.
Thanks so much you guys!!!
I could not make out what exactly are you saying. You can link to any site or page by hyperlinking your text in the test capsule. When you click to "link" in text capsule in edit mood a separate window appears. You can link your URL there easily.
There is no other way in hubpages to separately link a text portion in the text capsule. However, there is a link capsule from where you can link back to any site in or out side the hubpages.
You can feel free to ask if this is not satisfactory.

I have always added my Products via a keyword search but I have been asked to add a couple of products via links instead. I am not sure whether my being in the UK makes a difference but should I be adding links from Amazon.com or from Amazon UK? I know that most of my traffic still...

Is it possible to add a feature to links within text and to the photos to opt to have the link open in a new window? This would allow the reader to stay on the original page. Bounce rates rise every time someone leaves a page before reading the entire article, for whatever reason. If relevant links...

I think I missed something here but have recently seen some discussions about in-text Amazon links v Capsules. How do you put in text links in, is there a special way? Do I just get the link that I get from Amazon when I go on there and choose the product? Or does this only work for people who have...

I give! I've searched the first 3 or 4 pages of "Getting Help" Forum and I've read the entire Link's Capsule section in the Learning Center (http://hubpages.com/learningcenter/using-hubtool). That Hub, by the way, has a large number of Quick Links in it. How do you create a list of topics...

I am almost ready to publish a new article, and I want to add two Amazon Capsules. I know how to do it the old way. But I saw on lobobrandon and a few other's hubs a different way. There is just an orange "A" and what looks like a hyperlink, and when clicked, it takes the reader right to...

When I highlight some text and click the link icon while in edit mode, the next window is locked up. I is supposed to let me enter a URL and click save. But all I can do is exit out of that window. I also can't click any of the tabs to change it to show Amazon links or other hubs. It is stuck...
