well, i wanted to be Margaret Wise Brown or Richard Scarry. a completely unknown author getting published these days is almost an impossibility, no matter how prolific you are.
My lifelong dream was to perform on stage. I thought I had missed my chance until I discovered flamenco. Then I achieved my dream, several times - and I must say, I'm still a bit lost over what to aspire to next, apart from enjoying life.
I had a girlfriend who got a teaching degree and decided to become a nurse, so she went to school to be an RN instead. Then she got an administrative job, and went to school for business. Somewhere along the way she shared her secret life-long fantasy, and that was to be a Las Vegas showgirl.
I lost track of my multi-degreed friend years ago. Has anybody been to Las Vegas recently????
As for mine.... Now that I've had the children I always wanted, it has something to do with a big, giant, dream house; not having to work, and doing something to make the world a better place. (Those and getting legal revenge on a few people. How altruistic, right? )
I'm working on living it right now. Writing. Being a published writer. Writing a book(s)/novel(s). Being self-employed. Being my own boss. Supporting myself through writing.
I just want to help you to rephrase the end of your sentence. You can't make your wife happy, nobody can "make" another person happy. You do what you can to help her create a happy life for herself and hopefully she will decide to be happy with you and what you have to offer. I think its beautiful that you want that for your wife!
To finish my first book , and the next 3 or four and to build a successful tax / accounting office , to have an abundance of fun , joy , peace and love, and to watch my Grand-Children (when they come along) to grow and thrive and to have wonderful lives thats about all I can think of for now , but I'll bet there is more if I really think about it
To retire to a home in the woods or by the ocean, and have one entire room as a library complete with the rolling ladder; to have a glorious garden of flowers and a vegetable garden; to have my beloved friends and family able to spend weekends with me and to spoil my kitties rotten. And, perhaps get a dog
To have a log cabin in a big forest that I can use for hunting. Hopefully have a lake or stream near by to fish as well. I don't want some huge lodge, just a basic hunting cabin where I can get away from everything.
My lifelong dream has always been to write. Poetry, articles, everything and get it out there. So, I guess I'm living it. In the dream there was more money though
My lifelong dream has been to be a published writer, and now that I've had some things published, it is to actually make money writing and to have people who WANT to read what I've written. lol. Also, I have always wanted to open my own tea house with antique tea cups and teapots and loose leaf teas... Maybe someday!
There are a LOT of challenging things about writing a novel, as i'm currently working on one. I'm I'm on page 203 and am still far from done and i don't mean length-wise.In my opinion, creating complex characters that win over an audience is.Why don't you share your thoughts? I'd love to...
Back in November I wrote a novel has part of NaNoWriMo. Is there anyone else in the same boat? If so, what do you plan on doing with your unpublished novel? Also I am possibly interested in either Beta readers or novel swaps and thought that the HubPages community could be possibly a good place to...
I hope I'm allowed to ask this question ! I make only pennies on my hubs. Granted only a few are evergreen, but I'm wonder if I would be better off taking one of my everygreen hubs which would lend itself well to an ebook app and publishing that way. I've used ibuild app and...
