When I joined, I started following one hubber, tonight I have found others I would like to follow. Originally I clicked "follow ----" and that was it. Tonight I have been asked for a verification code, is this right? I am sure this didn't happen the first time I did it.Thanks.
Seems so. Don't panic, just copy the code, hit enter and you'll be fine. Welcome to Hubpages too
Sometimes it happens. It's OK. Go ahead !
I like your name it's very Latin.
Welcome to HubPages! Feel free to fan whomever you choose. That code you speak of is a new addition HubPages has added. I have too run across this fanning others.
I hope you enjoy your time here.
Thank you all! Shall go away now and follow follow follow!!!
welcome here! Don't overdo the following at one go though (fanning spree)...negatively impacts your score. Best of luck with your writing...and hope you enjoy reading the great number of hubbers around!
I would suggest using the Hub Hop button too found under your 'My Account' tab. Welcome to HubPages!
@ Myownworld. Why does following people affect you hubscore negatively? I would think it would be a good thing, as you participate in the community?
It's only bad if you 'spam follow' which is when you fan hundreds of people simply to get people fanning you back.
You will often notice these people as having less than 10 hubs, no meaningful forum posts, and over 100 followers, i think they feed off each other!
If only they understood the tactic doesn't work.
I don't know, but maybe its to discourage people from following hundreds just to get followed back. If they don't encourage it then I guess it gets people to follow others because they are genuinely interested. That's the only thing I can think of anyway- but I'm no expert!

Not complaining but I don't understand hub. In an attempt to get involved, I started following a lot of Hubbers. Many of them followed me back and I am seeing a dramatic increase in viewing traffic for my hubs. I guess Hub didn't like this since they took my score from 89 to currently 78 and...

I often receive notification of new followers. Many are scammers, but some are legitimate. My question is: How do new (or even not so new) Hubbers find us? And why do they choose to follow? Some who follow me don't have articles I would normally read. So, why (or are) they reading mine?With...

Do any of you have people following you, but they have not writen any hubs, yet these people...have some 5-50 people following them? And, do you think that it is possible that these people may copy hubs and try to pass them on as their own?

What's your criteria for following a Hubber on hub pages?Do you really read the hubs before following a Hubber or do you follow just because he or she follows you?

From time to time I may follow couple of hubbers, but may end up quit following small number of them, if I see they don't even care about my fan mails after many days(e.g, one was disapprove surprisingly, or leave it for weeks there without approving them, it feels disrespectful). Yesterday I quit...

I've been here almost 3 yrs and would like an honest evaluation of some of my hubs. I'm concerned about my low hubscore. I continually study hubs at the learning center, participate in forums, comment on hubs, re-title and revise hubs, and have reached over 300,000 page views. I...
