The magazine that I have been writing for has folded (excuse the blatent pun), shame because it was helping me to build a nice little portfolio. At least I got all my copies first!

This is a long shot, but I wondered whether any hubbers are involved with print publications? I am not looking for payment, I just like the look of my name in print. Obviously I can't write on every subject known to man, but I will sure try.

Let me know, it's not everyday that you get a semi-competant writer for free!

ps. I can submit in American English and I am only interested in publications which are distributed in a physical format.

Looks like I edited just before you pressed submit!

True though, Microsoft Word spell check comes in handy!

Really? The top rated definition for the word 'Ryan' is....

"the cutest guy ever, and has the greatest respect for girls, is funny, and very very LOVING!"

I found that to be incredibly accurate cool

sorry, i've only been published in newspapers so far (which i love though).  I do write however for RUSE magazine.  the problem is that it is online and i know thats not what your looking for.  but they are a cool magazine to write for if ever you're interested.

Many thanks meg78 but, just as you anticipated, not looking for an online outlet! (self publication is my game on here) I will however pop along sometime and check out your stuff!

I am just deeply attracted the prospect of writing for a dying medium really, magazines and newspapers are falling every week it seems, want to grab a slice of history whilst I can!

Ok so that's a little bit far fetched, I just think that print publications hold much more weight in a portfolio. A bit of a stigma attached to online writing, which is fair enough because of a lot of it is crap! lol

      Cheers, Ry

I agree.  I love seeing my work in print and distributed.  LOVE IT.  even if there is no monetary reward, i just don't care.  writing is my passion and if people think its worth publishing, thats all the reward I need.  I get it Ryan.  I think its sad that papers are going out of business because nothing compares toa  good cup of Timmys and an hour with a newspaper.

Sorry to hear about that Ryan, I can't think of anything off hand but I will let you know if I do. All the best of luck.
