    Hey Staff,

I just wanted to let you know.....testing the new my photo feature.

I have found out that you cannot make adjustments, if Firefox auto-loads the next page.

The user is forced to click on "next", to go to the next page so that the "choose an album" and "write a description" works.

If Firefox loads the next page and the user uses the auto load feature of Firefox, then those options are not working.

I think that SiddSingh is correct about you having an add-on for Firefox that is not a standard feature. I will try to find out this morning for you why My Photos is not working well with the add-on. Thanks for the report.

I just tried looking at My Photos with the AutoPager add-on (Is it the same one that you are using?). In my opinion, it's a bug/limitation of AutoPager that is the problem here. It's not really something that I can fix easily (if at all), but if the infinite-scroll feature is something that you really want, I can talk to some other members of the HubPages staff and see if they like the idea. If they do, we can implement it so that it works for everybody (without AutoPager).

I simply cannot load photos period!  They seem to load, I click save and everything looks fine until I go to finish editing the hub and that is where it hangs up.  After (seems forever) I decide to click out of that and go back, the photos have disappeared.  I have tried this over and over again and always with the same results.  HELP!

Let me see if I understand. You upload photos inside of the photo capsule, save the capsule, and everything works fine. But then you click on "done editing" within the Hubtool, and your browser hangs up. Is this correct?

Please try holding down shift while refreshing your browser. If that doesn't fix the problem, then please tell me which browser and operating system you are using. If you don't know, you can find out here.

Just tried it again with the same results.  Everything seems to work fine until I go to the top of the hub to click "done editing" and that is where it hangs up with the "loading" thing flashing forever.  Never finishes loading.  I just did what you suggested and held down the shift and the "done editing" at the same time and nothing different happened.

Here is what we use:  Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/4.0; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0; .NET4.0C)

Internet Explorer 8.0 and Windows 7.  It is a new computer!
          Please advise.

Obviously I cannot finish adding photos to my last hub nor would I be able to write any new hubs with photos until this is resolved.  Thanks!

    Hi Cags,
I must confess I have NO idea what you just said, but it sounds like you do.
I just tonight "switched" from IE to Firefox and am adjusting to it. Change is hard for me (old dog and all that...)

I hope you get an answer to your photo feature issue! MM

      Hey Mighty Mom,

Firefox has a built-in feature that auto-loads the next page, if there is a next page.

When using the "my photos" (beta) feature and Firefox auto-loads the next page, and you go to the next page in that manner, then the features "choose an album" and "write a description" which is located under each picture does not work properly.

You have to click "next" at the bottom of the first page, then wait for the page to load that way, in order for those two features to work.

I hope that is better. smile

I will take your word for it, Cags.
I have not ventured into using that Firefox feature yet, obviously.
But when I do, I will remember you and may call upon you for help.
Night (or I guess it's technically early tomorrow where you are!)
    MM

    Hey Mighty Mom,

Simple test of the feature. Go to the bottom of the list of forum threads and watch Firefox auto-load the next page. lol

    Good night. smile

I think the auto load of next page is due to an add on that you may have installed in Firefox. I had one too, but removed it later.

This is because of add-on called Fastest Fox. You need to disable it in order for it to work.

Edit: Is this what you have installed ?

Why are there duplicates of pictures that are only used once? I know what hubs my newer pictures are on, and there are 3+ images in the photo thing.

Somehow, multiple copies of your photo got uploaded to HubPages. Whether it's because you clicked on the upload button multiple times, or because there was some other problem with our code or servers at that time, we ended up with multiple copies on our servers. (Honestly, we are not sure why this has been an issue for so many people.) Hopefully the new upload interface will prevent duplicates from being uploaded in the future.

Greetings - I have a small problem: OS is Windows 7, on an HP platform, and I am using Firefox (because Chrome sometimes has problems loading photos (it will "hang" for up to 5 minutes, and then just refuse to finish loading photos that are not oversize), so I use Firefox for text and photo editing as Firefox rarely has a problem with either.

I have made no changes to any of the photos that are "online" or to "MyAlbums except to try and delete some duplicates. The images I tried to delete are still there, by the way.

I loaded several photos from the MyAlbums, and they loaded quickly and saved properly. Then I tried to upload a divider-strip picture. It uploaded just as quickly, and seemed to save, but when I clicked "Save Unpublished" and checked the hub, the image was gone, and the spacing of the existing capsules made it appear that the photo capsule was no longer there. As soon as I clicked "Edit", the capsule reappeared. I tried reloading that image from "MyAlbums" several times, and the same thing recurred. Finally, I uploaded the image from my computer and that worked beautifully in "Edit" and "Saved Unpublished" modes.

Not sure what the issue is, but
    1. would be nice to get rid of duplicates and have them stay deleted - it is a waste of space, and I commonly re-use an image several times in the HubNuggets hubs; and
    2. If the saving issue can be solved it is WAY faster to load from "MyAlbums" though the new interface is really speedy at uploading from "myComputer".

There was a problem with images not being removed. I'm sorry about that, but I believe that it was fixed by yesterday afternoon.

Thank you for giving such a detailed description of the problems that you are having. Hopefully I can track down what is going wrong. I know that I've received a lot of reports about these issues, so certainly something must be wrong, but every time I have tried to save a capsule it has worked fine in several browsers, so I am a bit stumped at this point.

      I'll keep trying. Thanks again.

RedElf, will you contact me through email and send me a copy of the strip divider image that gave you trouble? My email address is my username followed by [dot] fowler [at] hubpages.com. Thanks.

I am having HUGE problems with the new photo loader.  I am using Internet Explorer 8 Windows Vista.
What happens is that I upload a photo to the photos capsule and it looks ok - but when I try to save the capsule, it looks ok so then I click done editing and it will not save, it just says loading but what has happened is that I have been automatically logged out of my account so I cannot continue. (I have checked that this is correct by having hubpages open in two tabs at the same time and going to the second tab when I have experienced the problem and I have been logged out) Please help as I cannot publish any more hubs at the moment!  Yesterday evening I had the same problem and had gone on to create text capsules after uploading a picture and they got 'lost' when I clicked done editing.

Any chance the old system of uploading photos can be added back until this new beta system has the bugs worked out of it?  That would help all of us I am sure.  Like Alison Graham, I am now out of the hub writing business until this photo loading issue is fixed.  I really like using my own photos in hubs.

I would just like to add to my previous post about photo upload problems that I have now installed Firefox and can upload using this browser but not internet explorer! I am glad to have got a means of uploading photos again!
