How do I keep my hubs from being substandard?

Is there a minimum requirement for how much content should be entered in your hubs? I posted a recipe of the day hub for my profile and when I went to search something else and came back it was flagged substandard.  Is that normal?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Why not discuss why you chose that recipe for recipe of the day?

Give nutritional information, like how many calories are in the drink, how much sugar, fat, yadda yadda.  Does the recipe fulfill any servings of the daily recommendation from the food pyramid?

There's a lot of stuff you could add.

    Gamergirl makes good suggestions.

If you haven't already checked this out, you might want to: http://hubpages.com/hub/Substandard

Something else you could add about a recipe are suggestions for what you would serve it with.
I often include nutritional information when I do recipes.

okay I will eventually figure this out.  How do I get my photos I post along with my hub in the right side of my writing like everyone else's?

It's all the sticky thread (the pink one up the top) - read that first.
