I have just logged into my adsense account and have been offered the new beta Adsense page.  Im not sure what to make of it, so comments welcome.

LOL...I stay away from anything labeled "Beta".
      Too many bad experiences.

I saw it a few months ago.  I will stay with the old until they force me to switch because the iPad app I use will not work if I use the new interface.

Of course they will fix that eventually.

Reporting on beta interface is cool. But it takes time to load the interface so GPRS/mobile users are going to hate it.  hmm

I found it loaded quickly, Sky.  Im not too sure about it, it looks simple - Im not used to it being 'simple'! lol

Maybe I'm just set in my ways, but I have one quick thing that I do every day that seems to take a lot more clicks in the Beta. I just go on in the morning to see how the day before performed and then I click "Top Channels" to see who the moneymakers were--and weren't. Well, that appears to be gone from the dashboard. It's still available, but I had to dig to find it.

Oh, and if you try the Beta, you can revert (for now) back to the old AdSense.

I agree, I don't like the way they have separated url channels and main channels so that you have to go to 2 different pages to look at them separately. Apart from that I like it though.

Well one thing I've noticed so far is that they're basing my CTR on a different basis than they used to. It's showing clicks against actual ad impressions, whereas before it was always based against pageviews.

    That's good, I think, I like that.

But what I don't like is that they seem to be comparing my clicks to the total share of ad imps, HP's share included. Which won't be accurate.

May be a way to tinker with the settings, I haven't tried that yet. So my figures going forward won't be very comparable with my figures from before, unless I take the time to make adjustments.

Which I'm not about to do.

On a plus side it makes cool line graphs.

        Yep! Found it too, thanks!

I do like that, actually. Even if my CTR did just drop by a bunch. Hmm, I dunno.

I agree with Irohner too about the top channels. That was very convenient.

Is it? Okay I wasn't sure. The placement of the 60% coverage column made it look otherwise, plus my numbers jumped last week with Christmas shoppers I guess, so the whole number looked high, but yeah I guess that is right.

Oh cool feature noted! If you create a long view on your line graphs -a long historical period like if you look at the last year, which I did, and run the scroll button on your mouse over it, it will let you zoom in on a shorter period of time.

    Like that.

What's the difference between ad impressions/queries and individual ad impressions?

old news i'm afraid, it's alright but I preffer the old one for now, I think it's a matter of personal taste.

One big feature (Which has been temporarily disabled) is that each site your code appears on will be austomatically given a channel with the URL name. This frees up channels so you can actually use your channels to give advertisers more specific advertising options on your site.

I think with some getting used to it, I may eventually prefer the new layout and features, but it is quite a change and I'm not proficient enough with the system to see any significant benefits. It's too soon to tell.

I haven't been offered it yet!
I did have a try at the new Twitter interface, but changed because it is top heavy and too slow to load.

I don't recall seeing it yet, but as I am in Australia I am not too surprised. We get treated differently down here.
I will keep reading the informative posts just in case. smile

We got it as well Earnest, it is country independent so all users of AdSense will have access to it by now.

I too got the Beta Adsense Interface but prefer the older version as it is easy to use and understand.

I've been using the new one with Google Chrome. And boy am I glad I switched to Google Chrome. I don't mind the new interface, just takes some getting used to like anything else.

I agree Mikeydoes.  I am with Google Chrome and it seems to be fairly straightforward to me (although I am still getting used to it and finding my way).

I agree with some of the others on stirring clear on Beta. Whenever I see the new Beta anything is here I go in the opposite direction.

I got an email today that stated that the new adsense interface has been moved out of the original beta and has now been removed to the public.

I've been offered it now, but have refused to use the new one seeing someone said it is slower to load (my connection is slow). I'll use it when I have to and not before.

You can instantly switch back.  It's not permanent (not yet, anyway).

I think it is very snazzy looking and will be good in the future, but I'm not in love with it right now.

I actually like it and use it when I'm at my Mac for extended time.

But on my iPad, I like to use the "SimpleSense" app and if I enable the new interface, that won't work.  The last time I talked to the developer, he had not been able to get the new interface, so of course couldn't change the app to support it.

After playing with it a bit, it is looking favourable.  I like the way you can interact and obtain information easily in a pictorial manner.  It seems to have been designed in a simpler way, rather than the old system which tends to give you a feeling of information overload.  I don't really like new designs but, by and large, this system is a definate thumbs up, so far.

Actually, I like it, but i find myself going back to the old interface frequently. The reports are clearer and i am sure will eventually become the permanent adsense platform.
