I have joined about a few weeks ago, and I am writing and doing things intuitively. I am seeing other experienced hubs that looks nice, is there a way to add, capsules in some ways to make it better viewing?

I think since my 1st hub to 5th one, I am learning but there is so much to learn and hubpage community is one of the best one I have experienced so I am asking here for input and suggestion. Thank you.

I took a look at your hub entitled Must Read Classic Novels, and must say that you have made extensive use of different capsules - images, links, Amazon, and of course text capsules. The hub did seem a bit "busy," I thought, but that may be difficult to avoid with so much information.

You can post links to your hubs in the Extreme Hub Makeover forum, and ask for critique there.

      Website Examiner,

Thank you for your response. Must read books is my latest hub and I wanted to emulate what I saw from a hubber I admire and like to read. My main thing is to provide right image, right video with right text. Do you think I should change it a bit less and still provide valuable information?

      Thanks again.

You are welcome. I think you have done a fine job with it. I did look at it again, and could not really imagine what to do differently. It is supposed to give a rather brief introduction, then provide first a list of recommended readings, then a bit of discussion followed by further recommendations, some Amazon links, and then links to some of your other hubs.

If you could create a bit of space before the headline "35 Great Classics", and again before the headline "What Great Classics do you like?", this would give the eyes a bit of a rest and contribute to a more orderly presentation.

          Website Examiner,

Thanks again. How do I create a space between the headlines? Empty paragraph perhaps?

Just use the "enter" key to add one or two empty lines underneath the text preceding the headline. You can use Preview to see the results.

There are 2 ways to add capsules.  Either click on the word 'text' to the right hand side of the screen OR once the first capsule is as filled as you'd like it and you click 'save' then you will see a lightly highlighted word 'add' click on that and there are different tools you can use, these are all on the right side of the page.

    Hope this helps!

      Sweetsuieg,

Thank you. I think I am experimenting with side capsule, up capsule with right text and trying to see and learn from guessing what other hubbers I have done.

Everyone here are so helpful! Thanks.

    Welcome to Hubpages Cookingdiva

Regarding your questions: I think you done a great job there. There are no exact rule how to put/arrange your hubs, just measure by the result: how high the click through rate. Do some experiment by re arranging Google ads position especially for hubs that get organic traffics from search engine.

      Ign Andy,

Thank you. Hubpages have load of information and so are hubber community, I am learning so much.

I did not know I could re-arrange Google ads, how do you do that in the module?

Really, you can't re-arrange Google ads. However, the number of ads will depend on how many capsules you use. For example, adding more text capsules will give room for placement of extra ads in between these. Also, it is often recommended to have a good length first paragraph with no image to the right, which then gives room for an Adsense ad on the right side of the first block of text. Things like that. Again, you can use preview to get a feel for where the ads will appear.

This is assuming you are stressing adsense income.  If you are promoting a higher income item like a clickbank item.  Put that image in the 1st paragraph.  Also if you are promoting other hubs, try to link them in the 1st paragraph.

A good portion of your viewers will only look at and read the top portion of your hub.

        Chuck,

What you said, makes lot of sense. It is sometimes hard to fit all in first paragraph but I am going to keep this in mind. Thanks.

Never knew you could use clickbank on Hubs, something else I will need to find out about. Almost every time I visit the forums I find something new to learn or find out about, well the ones related to HubPages anyway.

BTW thanks Website Examiner, I try to give accurate info if I post but after over a year I am still learning things here.

Thanks for the tips.  I am just learning. I am going to look over my hubs and see what I can do to improve them.

The way you position your capsules within the hub can effect the location and number of ads that can appear on it. Best way to work this out is to experiment by looking at it in the preview, it still alters sometimes when you publish though.

Examples If you put a photo at the top right next to a text capsule you are using up the space an ad. would fit in.

Sometimes the way you divide the text up also allows more or less ads. but there is a maximum number of ads that are yours on the hub anyway, some ad. locations always belong to Hubpages.

Hope I have explained this in an understandable way.

Thanks, that is kind of you to say so. But you added some important details here!

      2uesday, website examiner,

That is sure good tip, I will sure to use it. Looks like writing several text modules might be better compared to one long module. Thank you both for insightful tip!
