I've been slowly going up the scale with my page views, to the point where my daily views are usually close to 350 total per day. All of a sudden today it began dropping, and is now down to 241.
Is that normal? I can't find any message that there was a problem with my pages, and some of the pages going up in views. Also, I've had some Adsense clicks and Amazon referrals today, so it's not like it was totally cut off.
I just get nervous after all the effort it took to get there, to see it suddenly drop like a rock. Am I doing something wrong?
You need to look at your hubpages account in terms of weeks and months, not days. Things like holidays and weekends and power failures or natural disasters can slow or raise traffic.
Also remember - it's on a 24 hour ROLLING count, meaning if you want more accurate numbers, check on Analytics.
Views increase over time but that can often take months. Don't stress, everyone has low and high days.
Time is the measure. I've been here for almost 3 years. Traffic goes up, it goes down. The more quality Hubs I write, the more I gain.
Weekends are fun for me...traffic doubles then. Who knows why? Maybe someone will do a study on weekend traffic.
Like wilderness said, don't sweat it and also write more. The potential is here, but it takes time and commitment. The payoffs are there if you want to stick with it.
If your previously most viewed hubs are written recently it may happen as the initial juice that Google provide doesn't stay longer. As your hubs get older it will go back to normal even better position.
Thanks, WryLilt and Saleheensblog... I was getting a bit depressed over it. I'll try to take the longer view.
... I feel better now, at least :^)
i have found that some keywords work better on certain days more than others.
Never worry about it is my advice--just keep writing--it all takes time and the more you throw-the more will stick!
true. I have a series of hubs that do really well on weekdays, but tank on the weekends. Cme Monday, though, they start to head north.
If its any comfort my traffic always dips at the weekend (sometimes quite dramatically) and peaks again Monday/Tuesday. Probably connected to the topics I write about.
Thanks, CMHypno; I panicked a bit, this was the first time I'd seen such a drastic reduction over and beyond the normal fluctuations.
Check back in Analytics and you may see that it has happened, but you just didn't notice it.
I have been active on the Internet since 1991. Traffic swells, traffic subsides. The past few days have been a bit slow for me also - it will pick up again.
Don't sweat it. As others have said, traffic comes and goes with no particular pattern.
Although I have hubs that do better on weekends and some that do better on weekdays overall there is little pattern to it. I've seen weeks at double my current rate (as with you it's low right now), but have learned it will come back.
It wasn't easy to keep from getting depressed or alarmed, but eventually I did. Sit back, relax and write another hub. It will pass.
Everybody's been so nice, I really appreciate the support. I'm not so panicked about it now. I did find a more concrete cause, though. Today I found an email that Xomba (one of my backlink sites) had suspended my account for duplicate content. I have no idea what, since I work hard to write something unique for every hub, but they blocked the account starting yesterday, coinciding exactly with my drop in visitors.
At this point, 2 things can happen. They'll reinstate me, or they won't. I hope they do, because they've been effective for me. Either way, I'll continue to write hubs and try to (more carefully) promote them.
Thanks again for all the support!

HiI have been at HubPages for about a month now and I have written 6 Hubs, but I'm having trouble getting views. Any help or tips on how to get more views would be much appreciated! Here's a link to my profile so if you could read one and give me some feedback that would be really...

I am getting 1000-1200 page views a day since last Friday (15 Mar 2013) to my 50 Hubs whereas 600-800 views a day are from search traffic. Earnings also reached $3-$5 a day with the increase in page views. Not able spare time to write but will try to add more 50 hubs quickly.

I am experiencing an overall average off 66 percent less page views per day, for seven days versus a week previous and for the past two months. Such a huge drop in page views makes me think that Google has tuned up something again. I do know that I don't have the time and energy to keep...

I had to look twice at my stats today-I usually have around 60 to70 views/day-which is reasonable for my topics-because in the last 24 hours I've had 322! I am used to seeing lots of zeros next to my hubs, but it seems like they're all popular.Maybe I'm paranoid, but this creeps me out...Any...
