Hello all! I just joined up and have created my first hub. Could someone please critique it so I know what I need to improve on? Thanks a bunch! … our-Family

      All right, some suggestions:

Make the first text capsule longer.  Adsense will put a large ad to the right of it if it is long enough - use the "preview" function to see when that happens.  Generally around 120 words.

Shorten the second text capsule.  If necessary, break it into two capsules - you don't have to have a title in each capsule.  The information is fine, but google will put an ad at the end of it, and as it is that ad is far below the fold; it should be moved up.

The double line feeds around "visit the park" look odd to me.   Would a bullet list do as well?  It will interfere with the amazon ad spacing, but this can be fixed.

      You need some more tags.

Many hubbers will tell you the large photo (blowing bubbles) should not be there.  While a beautiful pic and it fits the hub very well, it is distracting to have a large photo in the center, unless possible actually a part of the hub.  I'm not sure I agree, but there you are.

Wow; the length of this makes it look like I hate the hub.  I don't; it is one of the best first efforts I've seen.  Keep up the good work! smile

Thanks so much for reviewing my hub wilderness! Your suggestions seem spot on and I'll begin implementing them immediately. And what you said about being one of the best first efforts you've seen, that is mainly because of this forum! I checked out a few hubs and their reviews and got many ideas. Everyone here seems so helpful and knowledgeable! I really appreciate it.
I do have 2 questions. What is a good number of keywords? And do I have to add my hub to Google or does it get crawled automatically?
        Thank you again!

Hi Marie, I like your article, it's a breath of fresh air (literally).

I would definitely break up your long paragraphs. Unfortunately, we're writing for readers with a very low attention span and too much text is too much work.

I would break them up into about 3 paragraphs each, giving the reader a sense of space.

      Good article!
