         Hello Izzy, actually I won four daily doubloon drawings in the September's Hubpages Marks the Spot Contest, but every time is not the same. Might be possible that this time I am not so lucky or there are double or triple contenders for this contest than the Sep 2010 contest. Anyways, this way or that way, we will be rewarded in the long term.

      Soni, I have noticed that also, and I share the same sentiments as Izzy.  I have published a lot as well, 115 for this contest so far.  I have done the max per day and got ahead like you were in December.  I have published every day on the bonus topic as well, making those 115 entries translate into 154 (at least) valid entries into the contest so far with the bonus 3 entries per day.  Maximum of 7 entries every day to try to go for the random wins. 
      
      I haven't been posting links here, there are just too many.  I know people can go to my profile and click more, and see the pages of entries.  I wish you and the others that have been working so hard some luck in the future.  Surely with the random wins people could have a chance at least. Keep up the excellent work.

         Oh my God. You have put in 115 entries so far and have not got a chance for a single draw. That's is unbelievable. Okay we will never lose hope. We will keep on doing more and more work. A day will come when we will get rewarded. I am pretty sure now that there are many more people who have put so much effort for the contest in hopes of winning a prize draw, as it is not about money that comes in but it is about praise and appreciation and a sense of satisfaction that a writer feels when he is awarded and rewarded.
         
         @Oceansunsets, your hard work will definitely pay off in the long term. Best of luck for translating your 115 entries into 154. Now I have to think about writing another hub for the contest.

                  You know, I was just thinking about this last afternoon - I've seen SO MANY entries from you, soni2006, and oceansnsunsets as well!  I think one big difference in  this contest is that EVERYONE publishing in the PF category is entered for the drawing, even if they don't realize they're participating in the contest. 
                  In our last contest, people had to make an effort to get their Hubs entered in the DDD, so they had a better chance of winning.  The odds just aren't as great this time around, and I'm going to change our next contest so that only those who TRY to enter in the contest will be entered in the DD.
                  There's still a chance for you to win, though!  Don't give up hope!

         Also, just one note for you oceansnsunsets - there's actually a maximum of five entries per day, so you might want to focus on combining some yet-to-be-published Hubs to make them better overall resources - you'll have the same chances of winning (and fewer chances of being disqualified) and you will also have a better chance of winning a Staff Pick prize

            Actually the contest clearly states that you can get three "additional entries" writing one of your 5 hubs in the bonus category. If this is not so, you have made no mention of it since the beginning. Thats the way it has been on the other contests as well.
            
            There is no way to misunderstand the word "additional"

            Hi Simone, thank you for that.  My understanding is that you can have five per day, which is what I have done from the beginning, and that if you do one on the topic of the day, that one counts as 3.  Thus the seven entries per day even with just 5 hubs per day.  That means you get seven actual entries every day if you do five hubs and one or more is the topic of the day. This is what the rules state.
            
            So Soni for instance has done a lot more than his 60-70 or so as well.  Its just a numbers game I know for the random drawings.  People that put in 7 entries every day or more (like soni did some days! wow) should have a better chance at the random drawings every day, half of all the wins in this contest for the 50.00 per day anyway. 
            
            I know that you have been referring to above and on other days about long tail topics is referring to the staff choices, etc.  I have participated in 2 other contests on hubpages, and never had a chance at the staff picks for even really long hubs and what I thought were my best hubs. 
            
            Its a great contest in that you can do good topics, and do at least the minimum and get genuine entries.  I have entered over 120 now, but really 168 according to the rules.  I am covering a wide range of subjects which I am enjoying very much.  I can't be disqualified unless I am just not staff picked, right, if that is what you mean by disqualified? 
            
            So, I understand that you are saying some are joining hubpages, winning on one hub on their first day without even realizing they are in the contest, which I think is cool for them.  I and some others are just incredibly unlucky this go around I guess, that every day my 7 don't seem to have a chance.
            
            Even if you throw out my extra entries on the bonus topics, I have 5 legitimate hubs every day that meet the requirements.  I assumed nothing had changed.

            That all said, I appreciate this opportunity and I know the competition is fierce for these contests!  Learning a great deal from other hubs is just  bonus and sharing what I have learned in the past and ongoing.  Not complaining, and just wanted to respond to the others experiencing what I was.  Thanks to hubpages for allowing the contests, as they really get people to write a ton of hubs!

            Oops, I didn't make one of the points I was starting to make, and that is that the quality of the hubs and the long tail topics and thus the winning staff picks only account for half of the daily wins.  The whole other half are for random drawings of qualifying hubs.

               And I understand what you mean now - you were speaking about entries for the DD instead of Hubs entered in the contest
               Actually, Bonus Topic Hubs get not two, but three EXTRA entries in the contest, so with five entries in a day, one of which is in the Bonus Topic category, you're actually getting eight entries in the contest!  At least your chances are better than you thought they were, eh?

                  Then also after putting 8 entries for many days, people were not able to get through the draw of lots and that happened by luck. Anyways, we learned a lot from this contest and previous contests. I hope more people will win next time. Thank you Simone. Thank you ocean.
                  
                  Actually my luck is not going so well for this month as I was not able to secure admission for my daughter in a prominent school in Delhi today even when I picked the admission forms from the box on my own at the school premises . Bad luck this time, but I will never lose hope. I still have submitted forms in 10 more good schools in Delhi for my daughter. Wish me good luck friends.

                     I'm wishing you luck, Soni. You know, I'm just trying to enjoy writing a hub on bonus topic because the satellite signal in our place is very poor and more often than not, I get negative reception.
                     Anyways, I'm just happy to contribute on personal finance and my hubs are getting good score and impressions...and the bonus, Simone is checking my hubs (LOL!!!) and leaving comments on it. At least, I got her attention (LOL!!!)
                     P.S. Don't worry about your daughter, she'll get through with it. Maybe, you can apply my suggestions on personal finances when someone in the family is entering college.
