I now have my first green card giving me conditional perment residency!
One more step down on the list of getting my permenant US residency!
Not realy, it is a bit of a relief to see the process moving forward though!
good to hear. you know, we love those charming British accents.
where I live, there are a fair amount of 'across the big pond' accents. enjoy your new home.
So when are you opening a fish and chip shop as a side concern in TX Oli???
Traitor! - no, seiously that is great news thisisoli and long may you prosper in your new country!
Awesome news, Oli! Now, the 2 yr wait. We had the conditions removed on hubby's this past June. This upcoming June he can apply for citizenship. You can only appreciate the complex series of hoops, forms and fees if you've gone through it.
Ahh so I can apply for citizenship a year after I get full residency? I was pretty sure that was correct, there are so many ifs and buts involved though it can get surprisingly difficult to figure out the process!
That's wonderful! What's the biggest surprise you've had about the US?
Fire Hydrants, I thought they only existed in movies.
Do you find the Texas small towns to be similar to what you see in the movies too? My husband does. He thought they only existed in the movies too.
Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness -- may you enjoy them all in your new home!
Congratulations! I have a friend who's mom is also waiting for hers!
Your now becoming an American who speaks and writes in English english, lol.
Congratulations Oli. Wish you the best in your new country.
The US is a wonderful place.
Congratulations! I am so happy for you and for the US - I enjoy your Hubs. And Austin is one of the best places in the world - watch your waistline - the food is amazing!
Thanks for all the congratulations.
Small Texas towns can indeed be a little creepy!
My interest in Fish and Chips extends only to eating them. I remember seeing the blistered scarred hands of the people who worked in our local chippys, would not want that to happen to me!
Out of interest Oli, how did you get one? Is your partner American? You are marrying her right?
A friend of mine has a green card as a result of marrying an American lady and having a child with that lady, is your situation similar?
This is great news. Very happy for you. Congratulations to you.
That does sound like a better idea. What do the dogs use?

Just wanted to give all you new hubers a boost and tell you that my work is paying off really well. I have written 21 hubs to date my last one being this morning and just checked my google adsense earnings for yesterday. I earned $6 yesterday alone which brings me to $40 total earnings. It shows...

It took three months, I guess that's not bad! Now if I could just meet that threshold every month I'd be thrilled.Today's my wedding anniversary, so this is a nice "gift"!

I've been a member for two years but wrote the majority of my hubs over the last two months after I finally got motivated to do so. $100 is not very much to be honest but it just goes to show that making money online is possible when I really didn't believe it at the beginning! Now I...
