How do I delete my hubpages account? Not how do I delete my hub, which I've already done. Doesn't seem to be any info on deleting an account.
Thanks.
Aurelio
Hi, Aurelio.
If you would like to deactivate your HubPages account please send an email from your registered email address to team@hubpages.com with the subject "Close my HubPages account".
Good luck!
He made a thread asking people to critique his hub. Others told him that it wasn't the done thing here at HubPages. He took offense to the way some of that advice was offered and now he is leaving.
Just as well nobody actually took him up on the request to critique his Hub.
Jennifer may have been a little curt in her wording, but that was nothing compared with the blunt, honest feedback he would have gotten about his content.
We have had other people arrive, do something against the rules, get all upset when it was pointed out, and even say they were leaving, but then gradually figure out it was nothing personal and turn out to become dedicated Hubbers.
If he genuinely finds it emotionally disturbing when people are short and sharp with him, hanging out in online forums is probably not the best thing for him to do. As forums go, HubPages is actually relatively soft-spoken and polite.
Personally, I hope this is a temporary emotional reaction, and seeing the supportive responses people have made afterwards will change his mind. Or maybe convince him to create a new avatar and user name and start over.
You know I sitting here watching delusional people audition for the US version of "So You Think You Can Dance" and a number have been featured who not only don't realise they cant dance but don't even want to be told that they can't dance - even when the feedback was, relatively, positive and helpful.
If you can't handle criticism don't come out of your cave!
This is not good to hear that you are leaving and for the old time hubbers just give some respect to others than only people will respect, earn the respect not gain the respect..sorry guys maybe the way you guys treating him is like he is a dumb who don't really know everything,i think he knows just that he don't really knows the term and condition and we cannot expect everybody are the same like you all who willingly to read from a-z the term and condition. That is what the world is,so as a person who have feeling why don't we give some guide in polite way without using a word that can make people feel uneasy "sigh"..
Sorry to say at first i thought you all are generous and friendly but hmmm no comments,no wonder the hubpages pageranking is below 4 out of 10.
This is for you: http://hubpages.com/forum/post/70624
Mr weblog really sorry i didn't mean to point everybody it just for a lesson to us that all peace guys
Buahahahahahaha im the one who make it confusing
No you are fine. I was just trying to figure out what everyone was talking about and I had to read it twice to get it.
Sweetie Pie find it here and you will get the picture http://hubpages.com/forum/post/70624
Alocsin your hubscore is increasing, better you come back make more hub as much as you can and just forget it what is past...forgive and forget is better and make sure you always cheers like me peaceeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Yikes! If I'd known my topic post would generate so many responses, my first hub would've been about leaving.
Now I feel a bit embarrassed and a little bit silly for writing it in the first place.
Everyone's concern about my situation (both public in the forum and private in email) made it difficult for me to go gentle into that good night. So after all that fuss, I'm back and will be restoring my deletions soon.
Let me clarify though that the critiques didn't bother me. After all, my many years as a tech writer welcomes any documents that are bleeding with red corrections. Because that means people did care enough about the writing to review it.
What bothered me was what I misunderstood to be a petty snipe at my question itself, while the object of my request, the hub writing, received no attention.
Sorry to everyone for my misunderstanding and thank you for your advice and kind words. Hubpages seems to be a good place filled with good people.
And if I did learn one thing: no link to my hub will appear in this post.
If you want to read the hub, you'll have to find it
Aurelio
As usual Inspirepub is spot on the money and Lissie backs it up with an appropriate analogy.
