I worked clothing retail for like a week. It was awful. Probably not as bad as an oil rig, though.
I hated my job so much, I quit it!
Now, if I could only quit needing money.
When I need money, something turns up. A psychologist friend of mine calls it havingness.
I expect to get what I need, and that has always worked for me, and my kids, providing health allows activity.
My psychologist friend is amazed at how it works for me as he watched my business and how I ran it.
It is simple. I accept that I need whatever it is, then don't worry about it at all, and that works about 99% of the time for me.
After I learned how to make money it has never posed a problem really.
I wish I could send you a bottle of whatever the hell it is.
Just an update on the job from hell.
The oil rig I was on was an absolute s***hole. The accomadation was 4man cabins with a shared toilet and shower, which meant eight men trying to get dressed in the morning or showered after work. I measured the floor space in the room, it measured 2.70 metres by 4.70 metres. So you can imaging what it was like. There was 0.7 metres space between the two tier bunks.
And wasn't I a lucky camper. My roommates were, a snorer, a farter, and a soap dodger.
but did it pay well?...
On many parts of the world that (one day's) pay will feed them for an year.
Stop complaining.

Everything is relative to the economic circumstances of the country you live in. I do not dispute that $500 may feed a family for a year, but not in the UK.
I will not try to guess what end of the economic scale you live in in Singapore, which also has it's poverty.
To go back to main subject of this thread. I was pushed into my style of work through neccessity not choice.
I still remember recieving a phone call on an oil rig to tell me my father had died I did not have the chance to say goodbye. Why? I HAD TO WORK.
I also remember my three rugrats Missing their first words, their first steps, why? I HAD TO WORK.
Through my work I have managed to put my children through university. But I still missed out on a lot of their childhood why? I HAD TO WORK.
So SunSeven to go back to main idea of the thread which was hating your job, yes I have right to complian if I so wish.
