Shocking news as yet another one jumps ship.  Latest hub published, follower leaves.  They just couldn't take anymore.

I don't blame them much.  Shame is I now have to go all the way through my check list to see who's left and who, er, left.

Then track them down and pose the question... why oh why oh why.

I have been hurt before in life, but never like this.  I shall not rest until this wrong has been righted, or equally wronged.

Now, admittedly I'm slightly bored at the moment but never let it be said...

We'll leave it there. You know who you are. Eat my shorts.

      Awww! smile

The just come and go. Maybe it is not your fault at all. Maybe they just leave Hub Pages because they feel bored.

Thanks rembrandz - I'll try to bear up.  I've nearly finished checking them all now, so I'm about to find out who it was.

You are spoiling his wallow in his own misery Rembrandz - yes it is entirely his own fault and he should do everything in his power to track the lost follower down and apologise profusely for his multiple sins against them.

I do enjoy a good wallow.  That looks like a slightly dubious typo, it's not meant to be.

Ha, ha, ha...are you serious about this? I mean, it really hurt you that some quitted following you? I lose and gain followers  "all the time" - no big deal! This is the experience of most hubbers, you know. I like the "eat my shorts" part LOL I don't remember I've ever read a post funnier than this one smile So, funny...

Hi VV.  No I wasn't being serious, although it is a very serious matter.  I was trying to come to terms with it through the medium of forum posting - it's helping a bit.

Oh Ewbie...we all go through this. The mysteries of online and social interactions. They come and go just as the wind blows, no one really knows where they end up.

Thanks Michael - between you and me I'm only puffing up my latest hub... don't tell the mods...

You might have a lot less on May 22nd.

    1. CMHypno profile image83

Maybe everyone who currently follows Mark, should just agree to unfollow him on a day and time of his choosing. That way he can deal with the pain in one go and know that he has no further sorrow to come?

But maybe hell for us heathen hubbers after May 22nd will be to be forever writing hubs that nobody reads, that gain us no followers or accolades, and earn us no money - mind you I think in my case that is already happening! smile

Jeez Hypno, I just hope they / you don't organise it behind my back.  Imagine a flashmob of deserting followers - login in next day to find 0 - that would be quite a shock.

This May 22nd thing. Is it like Panda 3?

I tried to read it, really I did.  Thought there might be some mileage in winding people up - I mean contributing to the Hubpage forums.  But they are already so wound up there's nowhere to go with it.

May 21st?  Have I got time to build a very large boat?

Sure. In fact you might wanna write a hub on how to build a large boat. In the 24 hours we've got left you could become a millionaire!

Repent Ewbie - the day of the lord is nigh! The question you have to ask is how many of your followers are going to get raptured (as you lose them to heaven), and then how long after the ELE is the internet going to remain up? smile

          1. Mark Ewbie profile image61
Mark Ewbieposted 13 years agoin reply to this

Repenting is OK if you are certain. But an early repent might lead to trouble on earth, particularly if the wife finds out.

Not my of followers will be lost in a heavenly direction I suspect.

Anyway, let's be positive. Fingers crossed.

Well at least there will be plenty of us hubbers left behind to enjoy the twelve plagues or whatever.  Brings a whole new meaning to the signs they used to put up in chip shops 'Frying Tonight!' LOL smile

Ah, thank goodness for that.  I'll add your name to my master spreadsheet in case you decide to opt out due to a daily bombardment of poor quality and spam hubpages.

Welcome on board anyway, I'm afraid I'm not geared up to sell t-shirts as yet.

It's just like Facebook! lol We all grieve the loss of a 'follower' so to speak. Maybe put a piece of tape over your follower number then you won't have to be subject to such cruelty. I think I may do that as well. smileI'm going to follow you now so it makes up for it!

Oh no - lol!  Thanks Sue - but I don't want this to look like I was doing one of those grubby "follow me" forum threads.

I mean I was... but I don't want it to look like it.

Hey now.  We need to have a moment of silence for the poor soul who has demonstrated the lack of taste and intelligence required to stop following one of the wittiest writers on the site. My heart goes out to him/her.  Gosh.  I think my eyes are starting to water, but that could be from the uncomfortable shoes I'm wearing right now.

She is a bit clever that Simone.  I'm not entirely sure that sympathy is real, but I guess I reap what I sow.

Those shoes are probably those pointy ones - they're in right now I believe.
