It does look that way, but I actually do some work for them once in awhile and have received three checks of over $50 from them (last one was three weeks ago). Google them if you need some more assurance.
I've tried demandstudios and find their review process more than I can bear. But I'll look into your other suggestions as well. I'm more hoping for sites where I (actually my wifey) wouldn't have to do a lot of thinking.....i.e., work she/we could do while watching the kids or partially watching TV (little concentration). LOL, you are funny, try fiverr.com. I don't know if there is data entry there, but I buy logo for my site there, people have so much to offer at that site and they sell it for 5 USD, if that is what you're looking for as well.
I know captcha jobs are real. I'm sure there must be one or two scams, but it seems to be a growth industry. I haven't quite worked out what it's about yet (it's on my To Do list), but I figure they're selling the databases of captchas to either companies, or hackers.
