I am a new Hubber and I have just set up my hubpages account with my Adsense account. I was just wondering about the difference between CTR, CPC, RPM. Will gooogle pay me only if someone clicks on an ad on one of my pages? Or will I also be paid of I get a lot of traffic (but noone clicks on the ads) ?
The large majority of adsense earnings comes from clicks, but a few pennies often show up from ad impressions as well.
From a practical standpoint clicks produce the income.
Have you signed up for the HP ad program? That one is primarily impressions, not clicks.
@wolderness thanks. I have signed up for HP ad program but am still at 0.00
earning from clicks is pretty straight forward but how is earning from ad impressions calculated?
If you are running both HPads and adsense I doubt you will get any clicks from adsense. HPads take the place of adsense ads most of the time. Given that, adsense clicks will be rare.
Each impression (ad view) makes a small amount (1/10 cent perhaps although it varies). HP will usually update the numbers on views and earnings daily, in the morning.
Most hubbers are finding it advantageous to use HPads and swallow the loss of adsense clicks, but it does vary. At this point I would suggest that you keep HPads enabled - you should earn at least something and the payout is only $50 instead of $100. Later, you may want to disable it for a month and test what happens.

A few days ago, I noticed that a lot of people were talking about changing from HP Ad Program to Google AdSense. I had tried that a few years ago, but switched back pretty quickly because I earned better with HP. Recently though, since my earnings have dropped so much, I figured I didn't have much...

Some people have said they've turned off HP Ads and just use Adsense and actually make more money from Adsense. I'm considering trying that out and was curious how much more some of you are making just through Adsense. Fifty percent more? Twice as much? Triple? Quadruple?

I need advice. I have both the HP Ad Program and my own Google Adsense ads on my one Hub. I haven't earned a thing from the HP Ad Program, but I'm earning on Adsense daily. I'm wondering if I should get rid of the HP Ad Program ads completely so more Adsense ads will show. Is this a good plan? If...

I really do miss the old success stories.. they were the ones that gave us all hope. Even after 6 years of being here at hubpages it is all a mystery to me. I am still loyal to only Adsense and didn't opt for hubpages ad program. My question is...is there anyone here earning over 500 dollars per...

I was just looking through my earnings, and I am making way more via hubpages earnings program than I am with my own adsense ads shoing up. I believe a 3rd or the ads would be my own adsense ones, but it only accounts for like a few percent of my earnings.Anyone else experience this, and do...
