.. fortune cookies they place in take out orders?
They are so yummy, but the predictions seldom come true
I once got a fortune that said, "Don't drink and drive." That's not a fortune! I felt cheated.
that's the whole thing about it, isn't it??
You get a Chinese fortune cookie.. and 5 minutes later, you're hungry for another one!
It's like being a fan of the San Jose Sharks... so much potential, but never fully satisfying
Had to get the dig in there, didn't you? It's okay, I haven't been watching hockey this year. It's bad for my chronic pain.
Ed, that's true, but I don't even drive. I mean, I have a license, but not a car. I suppose I will have to eventually.
Put it this way, if you followed the advice, fortune is bound to come to you eventually in some form (as long as you're alive, there's hope for fortune)
Don't know. I don't eat Chinese food. So, I don't get fortune cookies.
I got one once with a 10 digit # and the words Sum Yeung Gai
I still haven't figured it out.
I wouldn't worry about it, unless you start getting ones demanding payment for the National debt.
haaaa I love them. My most recent one said... a carrot a day keeps cancer away.
Mostly, I order out for Chinese. By the time I get to opening the cookies, their fortunes are as soggy as the cookies. I get the fortunes that say learn Chinese on the other side...they're kind of cute.
I hate soggy cookies!!
Reminds me of making love in the Springtime outside in the garden
You know, Greek, 60 year old memories can often subtly change, becoming something they weren't.
Or at least I think that's what he said....
So sorry that that was a soggy experience for you. It should have been filled with expectation and wonder.
Love Mongolian Beef and General Tso Chicken!
At least they have a Chinese word with translation on the back to further your higher education?
Kinda confused. Chinese fortune cookies, what the heck is that?
Funny thing is - we don't get those fortune cookies here in China
Do they even originate from China? I thought they may be a marketing ploy like a lot of the Chinese food that the Chinese have never heard of.
Our Chinese fortune cookies are made here in Canada. How about them apples?... I mean cookies.
My brother-in-law is Chinese Canadian. He got one that says "You love Chinese food."
I got one once that said "under penalty of law, do not remove this fortune."
I believe fortune cookies, and a vast majority of Chinese food found in resturants here in the US, originated in California.
As far back as the 19th century, a cookie very similar in appearance to the modern Fortune cookie was made in Kyoto, Japan, and there is a Japanese temple tradition of random fortunes, called omikuji.......
Most of the people who claim to have introduced the cookie to the United States are Japanese, so the theory is that these bakers were modifying a cookie design which they were aware of from their days in Japan.

One of the leading U.S. to China exports is chopsticks. There is a factory in Georgia that can hardly keep up with the demand.
Fortune cookies aside, I hate the Chinese..! I'm taking a break right now from trying to assemble one of their damn BBQ rotisserie sets...NOTHING FITS!!
I have to drill two holes in the side of the BBQ itself to make the rod level with the motor attachment...The parts inventory does not include a wooden handle, just a rod ending with threading..! The instructions are quasi-English and show no difference between screw sizes...Instructions end with this admonition: Please to keep hand off motor when cocked...Huh !!!
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Im sorry to laugh. But two years ago I got my husband a bbq for fathers day. The assembled version would not fit in my van, and I thought that assembly would require putting the bottom half onto the top half. Like..stick the legs on and be done.
I was sooo very wrong and to make a long story short, I ended up with a fat lip, a scrape over my right eye, and I got the bottom part of the grill backwards so the propane tank doesnt sit right.
never again will I put a grill together.
"Please to keep hand off motor when cocked...Huh !!!"
Sometimes there are just too many inappropriate responses to choose just one.
Yeah - you go right ahead and blame the Chinese for selling poor quality goods that are demanded by Walmart for poor Americans to buy because you have no work because your own shops import the rubbish from China instead of the good stuff that Chinese buy
Can't blame the Chinese because Americans want cheaper stuff.
That is right - but you can blame the cheap importers for being lazy buyers when the good stuff is only a fraction more cost.

How Do You Make Fortune Cookies?
by Diane Inside 14 years ago
You know the chinese fortune cookie game we've played in restaurants? Well I wondered what people might come up with here. The idea is to come up with a fortune for the next person who comment after you. They will then add ...in the bedroom. At the end of your fortune. Then space down to give...
