I bought the work at home angel stevens process at home program for $197. I have not earned anything from what she has "taught me". Question: Can I sale what she has sent me? All has been saved on a ADOBE
Legally you can't sell any copies of the materals but you can legally sell the actual physical products you recieved for your money- as is. It is a product you own but making copies of her course will breach copyright even if you just give it away.
most of those work at home courses are not scams but how they sell them/present them to you is misleading. I wrote a hub about this...
I disagree most work at home products ARE scams because they are being sold to someone who doesn't know what a pdf file is and telling them they can make money by selling affliliate products - this is unreasonable
No Im wrong this one is a genuine scam http://www.scamfraudalert.com/f90/angel … ome-14662/
Youve learnt a lesson: it could be worse it could have been for a figure 10X that - chalk it up to experience and move on. You don't really want to sell the same scam to others do you?
Back when newspapers were the primary source of information the same cheesy work at home scams were posted in the classified section. The advent of the Internet created a wonderful breeding ground for those who use work at home scams to prey upon unsuspecting people. Even some of the legitimate word of mouth work at homes schemes such as Mary Kay are misleading. I remember when I was in my early twenties a friend insisted that we both had to go to this great make-up party with a Mary Kay representative.
The lady applied lots of make up to my face and told me I looked really great. I believe her because she was praising me so, but they were pressuring me quite a bit to buy a bag of their products and start selling it with them. I fell for it and did buy the make-up bag, but I decided not to participate with this company after I realized how much work is involved to make even a small salary. When I got home I realized I had made a mistake since the lady pointed out I looked like bozo the clown. What I learned then was Mary Kay representatives literally have to push themselves and know a large network of people if they want to even make full-time salary.
If you buy a bag of make-up with Mary Kay and decide not to sell with them they act cultist and make you feel bad about it. When the next day I told the representative I had changed my mind, she guilt tripped me and said "What is going on?" I was very firm and told her sorry but I am not interested, but she kept calling me and insisting we get together sometime. After her incessant phone calls I agreed to meet her at the local sandwich place and she brought a higher up Mary Kay representative with her. The higher ranking lady was successful enough to have earned one of those Cadillacs Mary Kay women drive, but all she could talk about was selling lots of products to earn this vehicle. I had not even said I was going to change my mind about selling products with them, and she took out a piece of paper and started listing all the Mary Kay products I needed to to get rid or my acne. She made such a big deal about how a Mary Kay representative could not have acne on her face, but still did not hear me say no I was not interested in selling these products.
Afterward I called the original Mary Kay contact and told her I was not going to sell products, but had only met with them because she kept insisting. At this point she seemed apologetic and said she regretted having purposely continued to contact me after I originally said no. It did not seem worth it to an introvert like me who would rather be at home than at a Mary Kay party. I did not feel bad about having bought that original bag of make-up, but I was not about to become a slave for Mary Kay LOL.
Some times the aggrieved purchaser posts the download link on a well visited forum.
That way no one pays for the information. Its not the right thing to do, just saying they make these types of posts.
Can you clarify please? What is not the right thing to do.
Well say you download something after you have paid for from a website, such as the one in question and titles this thread. The download turns out to be rubbish and not what you thought it would be. Borderline scam. You then post on a forum that you used this download link for the product and all the other members go to the link and download the product for free.
Technically, thats not the right thing to do. It is stealing as the item has not been paid for by those members who downloaded the item.
There are ways to do this though and the search engines actually allow it. You just need to know the prefix of the search term and whalla. Anything you want - For Free.
Most download pages put up by amatuers are not protected by a No-Index tag and is the problem for the webmaster. By doing this the se's index the page and it is there for everyone to see, visit and call to action it. I digress!!
Ask for your money back.
If they refuse, and you paid with a credit card, you can then get the credit card company to give you a refund because "the goods were not as described". The credit card company will then deduct the money from the seller.
If you used PayPal, you can make the same complaint to PayPal.
Sorry to hear you fell prey to one of the smooth talkers.with slick promises.
And that cash didn't fall from the sky like raindrops in a cloudburst
Get ready for it to happen again and again and again.
You were given good advice by many people in this thread.
I'd suggest you re-read it.
Or at least do a bit of research on google about the next product you are tempted to buy.
Here's the second result for a google search for "angel stevens scam"
Even a search for Angel Stevens brings up lots of horror stories on the first page.
Hubber PLM has even written a hub about this report too:
Eric - that hub is 5 months old - OP did it not occur to you to type in <thing I am considering buying> scam into google - usually you only get reviews but in this case the scams calls were load and early!
I just meant the review was available to the OP before they got out the credit card
thank you. Just trying to earn some money from home, and it seems as if it's alot harder to do thank once expected. Thank you once again. Billy
Unfortunately, earning decent money at home is not easy...you have to work for it.
Remember there are work at home jobs and there is developing your own business. You should never have to pay to get a job- they pay you LOL.
If you are developing a business you may pay for software and advice - but don't for the first 6 months until you are figuring out who to trust and who not to! And don't expect any income for the first year or so either!
Unfortunately there is a whole industry built around peoples desparation

There are so many of us who write fiction, and we're stuck with Amazon, itunes, Smashwords, Barnes and Noble, etc, all of which have their own difficulties.I would really like a formula in the hubpages tradition where every author has their own site, plus the ability to upload their books and sell...
