"how do i get traffic to my site without doing this"
This is probably the key to your being flagged. If you are just writing Hubs to point to another site that is frowned upon. However, if you write an interesting article about the topic of your site and have a link to it, people will appreciate it more.
yes i have done that and still been flagged !!!!!
Now i have no links at all to my site
So let me see is i got this right.
If I have a blog on my site that i want people to see then i write about the blog and use a link that blog not the website ...
Or i write something that i think would be of interest to other hubbers and have no link to my site but have links to other people site that i think would be of interest. And hopefully they will go to my profile page and use the link there to visit my site ???? I think..

Oh thanks bye the way very very much appreciated
Well you have no published hubs so that makes it difficult to do but the most common mistake is to forget that you can only add links to your own sites if the hub is original content

I am a little bit confused about how this works. One of my hubs got flagged because I had more than two link cloakers on it. By means of substandard quality? One of which has almost 700 views on it. These three hubs have been on here for over a year and are now being flagged although they generate comments and daily reads. I don't understand if they were good enough for the last year and a half and now aren't? Please...

I'm about to publish a hub. My goal with this hub is to promote the idea of writing for Mesothelioma Awareness day. I took out one link to cancer information already, but am still getting the warning.I think that this hub, without links to the information, would be silly. And I...

I find it hilarious that Hubpages pushes the concept of helping new Hubbers yet my Hub which has had very good reception by the community has been flagged for being both overly promotional and substandard.I had 5 social bookmarking links, and 2 other links to free tools absolutely related to the...

I've been approached by a number of specialized sites regarding a number of my articles on Guitar product reviews. Obviously I was quite proud and humbled to be even considered to write content for these sites, some of which are huge, but all I'm getting in return is a back-link to my hubpages...
