"Related Hubs"? Take a look at some of the "Related Hubs" HP chooses!

Why are  Hubs with obviously unrelated subject matter put in the sidebar by HP?  Is it done by some computer software method that needs some fine tuning?  For example:  what does an article on a vehicle for sale have to do with an article on election statistics?  There are enough election-related articles to fill that sidebar, but two "Related Hubs" (the truck and another one) were way off topic.

I believe they're based on tags. If someone incorrectly tags their hubs, they'll have incorrect related hubs shown on it, or on other people's.

Nope, coincidentally I just posted a similar question! smile  It's not the tags!

I just saw your question. Hmmm....

Edit: Quick look at mine indicates no problems! Weird.

I just spot checked three of mine and they were good matches.  Even one I checked with possibly confusing tags/keyword did pretty well finding related material.

So far it's this way on my two traditionally best trafficked hubs.  This stinks!!
