I really should put this in a hub and enter the competition, but I won't.
Everyone chill out!! We're all so focused on earning on HP, complaning about HP, complaining about Google, bemoaning our writing lives (myself included) that we're forgetting what really is important.
As I sit here, my 86 year old father in law is trying to recover from a bout of sickness that has left him seriously weakened. As I sit here, peoplle are sitting in Syrua, Nigeria and various other countries around the world dying, or fearing for their lives. As I sit here, peole are being murdered for daring to oppose or for expressing their opinion. As I site here, women are being treated like dogs, children are being left to starve, poor are being neglected, the diseases are dying.
While there are some people on here that rely on HP, many of us do not - so let's get realistic and for once be grateful for what we have, and for what we have achieved - we are the lucky ones who have the ability to complain that Google Panda is killing us - for one, I'd prefer it to be Panda than the Syrian government!
So chill out, crack open a beer (Mine is an IPA today) and enjoy the life you have - don't worry about traffic - it'll come back or not.....
...OK rant over...go back to what you were doing, I'll sit here quietly drinking my beer!
Amen. My son fell from a 20ft balcony just over two weeks ago, fractured his scull and was bleeding (small bleed from the brain) for the first 36 hours there was a possibility that he might need major neurological surgery. There were fears(initially that he'd broken his back and when they were dispelled there were fears that he'd broken his neck) Fortunately neither. He had however, fractured a bone in his hand. At the fracture clinic recently (weds) we were told that he'd ruptured his extension tendon for the middle finger of his right hand. He needs an urgent operation which we are told may take place Sunday. We are also told that he may never be able to use his middle finger fully again. He's 19 years old and almost qualified as a hairdresser. Two days before the accident he was offered a place at a prestigious salon to complete his training. He's worried about his place, I'm just thankful he's still alive. We all need to get some perspective.
My thoughts are with you and your son, and I hope all goes well with him. He sound like he is very talented, so I am sure he has the determination and courage to switch hands if he needs to!
Thank you SimeyC, like I keep telling him what's meant to be is meant to be. He'll survive because he's cute, good looking, talented and above all, my son.
So what's your favorite IPA?
Have you tried Dundee IPA in the green bottle?
I like it even better that Sam Adams White Water IPA.
Yeah, I'll be forgetting all the world's problems real soon, especially my own.
You look like an expert on writing hubs. You got any good ones on good beer?
Come to think of it, I do have my $1 lottery ticket working for me this weekend.
I am having a glass of Guinness with a touch of blackcurrant. I have no idea what IPA is, however, I would also drink one with you, too.
Aha - I used to call that the Pink Panther! We also have Guinness in the fridge!!!
I'm in the middle of a Banana Bread ale and then I'm onto the Sam Adams!
Good for you, it's Friday. If you're as old as me you'll remember that Friday, Crunchie feeling?
Wow - I miss the crunchie! It's hard to get out here in the states! That melt in the mouth yumminess!!!!!
I've actually not seen one for ages, but the other day I spotted a walnut whip. Absolute heaven!
You can't beat a curlywurly. In fact my son, Thomas, asked me for one when he was in hospital (when he was little and he'd fallen or something, I'd always buy him a curlywurly) But there again, a cream egg or mint aero are also serious contenders.

This is a great Friday... I'm in Canada and last weekend brought snow and bad road conditions... today, it feels like Spring and almost all the snow is gone. I saw a few people outside with shorts on, so the end of the week is warm, snow-free, and making me look forward to Spring. I cheered myself up during the snow storm last weekend by starting some container garden plants and today, 7 out of 10 types of plants have shoots showing above the soil... Yes, definitely, today and tonight is for chillin' out and daydreaming about Spring which is just around the corner!
(Daylight Savings Time Clock change tomorrow night... another indication that winter is going to be a memory soon)
Yeah that's nice, for me spring indicates optimism. I'm taking my son and daughter to New Quay, south Wales in two weeks (part of my sons rehabilitation) can't wait. Got my camera, my kids and my dog. Wonderful!

it's friday, how will you be spending your weekend?
by John Coviello 11 years ago
I understand that on weekends people aren't sitting in front of their computers as much, so there are less searches and less hub views, but why does taffic to hubs dlow down on friday? Are that many people working a four day week, or is there some other reason. Any tips on how to boost...

Which is your favourite day of the week, and why?

My six year old son told me today that he was in trouble at school for showing another child the middle finger. The middle finger is not something that he has ever seen used so he did not know that it meant something bad. He is six years old and the thought of talking to him about it...
