On my hob "A Tough Negotiation" I had a nice comment but I did not receive a notification about it. It could be there is a time lag issue because the comment was only 5 hours old.
I have also not received notifications about spammed material arriving as comments - but I think this is coverered on another thread.
Sorry to hear that you have missed notifications.
Is this related to email notification and/or the notification on the site itself that show up on the top of the screen under "notifications"?
Many times with email, this can be attributed to the messages being marked as SPAM.
I had the same issue occur with Gmail and still have to go check my SPAM folder occasionally for some of my email notifications.
If you are talking about the site notifications and not email, this may also be remedied by clearing your browser cache.
Please see the bottom of this FAQ thread for instructions to clear the cache:
I have noticed that also, I'll receive notification for perhaps 95% of my comments, but every once in awhile I don't receive any notification at all and I do not check my hubpages account as much as I used to so some times it is a couple days before I know about a comment that was left.
I don't get all my notifications to comments on my hubs and now to comments from posts in forums.

I've noticed lately that for some reason, I won't get notifications of comments on random hubs... all my other ones still email me though. Then I go look the main page on here and it says I have like 23 comments that I haven't approved yet... So I go look and they're way old and sure enough somehow...

It would be great if we received notification of new comments. I was reviewing my hubs today and found comments that I didn't know were there. This notification could be on the account page or, better yet, by email.

We recently made an improvement to how notifications are handled on comments on your Hubs. If you would like to receive a notification when someone comments on your Hub, you will now need to "follow" your Hubs. If you had previously configured a Comment Capsule to email you...

We are currently taking a high level look at our notification system: under what circumstances we send a notification to users, how the notifications are sent (e.g. via email or the iPhone app), how users can choose to opt out of these, etc.An example of a notification that we already send is...

Before reporting a problem I wanted to know if anyone else is having trouble with the comment notification. I usually receive an e-mail when I get a comment. I never changed my e-mail settings but for the past 24 hours I've received comments & not a single e-mail. I just checked my settings and...

I noticed the past few days that any notifications of comments don't appear in the notifications list until I approve the comment. (I am seeing the comments as they show up next to the Hubs link on the homepage, so that is not an issue.) Newer notifications showed up before the comment did....
