What is 14 million unemployed workers going to do if they can not find employment?
It is, I think, the 800 lb. gorilla no one wants to talk about
One of my brothers has been out of work for three years, not because he isn't qualified, but because there are simply no jobs. I think he had unemployment pay for about half of that, but it ran out a long time ago. Food banks in his area are out of food and there is such a long wait for social services that they might not get help for a long time. I'm scared for him and his family and everybody else who can't find work. It's frightening. Everybody I know has had to cut back, but if this doesn't end soon there may be devastating consequences.
Exactly my worry. The number is simply too large, and no one is hiring. And no one, (politicians, policy makers and intellects) have not said anything about what will happen if benefits run out for these people, myself among them.

Do you think Congress should pass the bill extending unemployment for workers who have been...unemployed for over 6 months -- and why or why not.?

Thats ridiculous, if you can't find a job in your area in three years then move to where the jobs are. Unemployment is beginning to be a career for some people.

Can you believe it? The government may have actually underreported the real number of unemployed and underemployed.FYI, that last part is bunk. The real reason the "official" numbers are lower is because the only numbers reported are people who are receiving unemployment...
