Perhaps people with the character and minds that excel at science are not the same types of people who do well at or enjoy politics. It would seem this way, considering that science is an experimental and solitary field and politics has more to do with charisma, charm and the ability to manipulate people. People are unpredictable. Experiments can be controlled and monitored in laboratories.
But then, too, perhaps there is a science to politics. Hitler may have been one of the best political scientists of all time.
