Can we have inventions with no damage to environment?

The modern scientific inventions have left a deteriorating effect on the environment, can we reverse this effect, so that damage to environment can be reduced, your opinion?

    Yes, of course.

Technology has never been a problem, only the development and proper use of appropriate technologies.

I am very hopeful for the future of our planet. I believe that the changes we need to see, however, have to start from the bottom up. It is clearly no good expecting any government or institution to to fix anything for us. Governments and institutions are closed systems highly resistant to change. We each have to tackle global problems locally as a matter of immediate, personal responsibility.

It's no good blaming science or god or the government. We have to look to ourselves and say, 'Okay, how am I interacting with my environment and society? How do I use technology? What can I, me, do now, today, to live more responsibly and bring about positive change?'

We have all the power in our own hands. This is good news. You just have to believe it and act on it.

If things go down the pan it will be our fault, each of us, no one else's.

    Thank you for the question.

    Bless you. smile

Thanks for reply. Your reply sounds little of sustainability issue, which the world is focusing these days. In a layman's language 'waste not', 'use minimum', etc is the mantra always, issue here is can we have least damaging inventions hereafter?

Yes, I think we can. As we aim for sustainable technologies we naturally produce less damaging inventions.
