Is it more expensive to own a dog or a cat, all things considered?

Are you really saying that spending time with your pet is a waste of your time?

You should not be giving your dog yearly vaccinations.

Oo-Kay, I think Dr. Mark1961 is definitely a dog person, not a cat person, based on his comments :-). Hedgehogs are another great calming pet. They are nocturnal but make no noise. They're not for everyone, though, and few vets treat them.

I love your ending about the carpets and furniture. Too true!

"Dogs are good for nothing." I trained one and worked with many service dogs who do MANY things on their own initiative--if trained. Even life-saving things. :-) At $20k+ they're pricey.
