Is "psychosocial" actually an accepted term? It's a good one. It comes from mutual intolerance between citizens and authority stemming from the colonial era. A perpetual pattern of hostility and rebellion met with resistance and force. Once a revolution, now business as usual.
Part of it is also the inability of law enforcement to recognize that they belong to the same class as the people they go on the offensive against. The global elite benefit the most from lower classes of people being at odds with one another. To overcome any of society's oppressive apparatuses, those protesting need the support of law enforcement and at least some of the military.
