In the US it's failure to properly 'mirandize' the subject.

This probably isn't as easy of a cut and dry answer as you'd like but I did some digging.

In the entire world, the most common civil rights violation (or the largest in recent history) is probably that of the United States not against her own citizens but against those in other countries. She caused a huge civil rights violation by invading and killing estimates between 600k-1 million civilians and otherwise humans in Iraq since her 2003 invasion. (US Human Rights Violations Full Text, 2007, p. 7)

Please do consider the source of this report and use your cross checking and research to confirm the data therein as you would with any research.

In Chicago city, one of the most common civil rights violations are committed by the police force, such as police brutality acts and failure to protect.

Enforcing laws that are contrary to the spirit of the founding REVOLUTION and The Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

That includes enforcement of drug, tobacco, and alcohol laws.

That includes enforcement of laws prohibiting and/or punishing consensual sex (including so-called statutory rape laws).

That includes preventing you from carrying a means of protecting yourself, leading to the possibility of you becoming a victim on the street or in a school room.

That includes requiring individuals (not corporations which are creatures of the state) to get licenses for all kinds of trades.

That includes illegal search and seizure by police and IRS, forfeiture of assets, planting of evidence.

That includes onerous ID requirements to open checking and financial accounts.

This is just a START of a list, but I am stopping now.

Now, all the pussies and tyrants will say that we need all those violations for various reasons -- the "children" (sob, sniffle), terrorism prevention, money laundering prevention, whatever.  Those who understand freedom and the difference between what this country was SUPPOSED to be and all the European, Asian, African, Middle East totalitarian socialist/communist/fascist/nazi countries, DISAGREE.
