(1) There are people who are highly progressive and are ahead of their time. They are often unconventional in nature. They do and believe in things which will be accepted by the majority 50 years later. They are often trendsetters. They feel that most people's religion is conformity. Conformity is the LAST thing they are and want. They contend that most people JUST DON'T GET IT at all! They do not care what other people think of them. They are oftentimes misunderstood and considered weird by others who are not on their wavelength. They live life on their own terms.
(2) There are people who call be described as average, normal, conventional. They go along with the majority societal construct. They go along and get along. They love the status quo. They do not want to rock the boat. To them, the most important thing is conformity. One can say that they are the ULTIMATE conformists. They want to BELONG and are afraid to stand out from the majority. The idea of going against the grain and to exhibit any type of independent thought is a total anathema to them. Others' approval is so important to them. They tend to believe and go by what others do.
(3) There are people who yearn for a more, simpler time. In fact, they yearn for an earlier time. They want things the way they USED to be. They can be aptly described as traditionalists or conservative. They believe that things have gone amiss in the modern and postmodern era. They want things to return to what they deem to be proper. They believe in an older, more traditional morality. They believe that society is chaotic and negative because, in their purview, it has "deviated" from a prescribed morality which is as applicable now as it was then. They believe that society will be better when things return to the way it was. They find progress to be quite unsettling.
(4) There are people who are what can classified as behind the times. They are totally out of sync in the modern and postmodern era. They feel that modern life is inherently evil and perverse. They totally eschew modern life. They believe in a preordained and natural order of things. In their opinion, modern life has veered away from this preordained and natural order. They further contend that modern life is a total abomination away from what is naturally moral and right. In their view, modern and postmodern society is a Sodom and Gomorrah and is going to hell in a handbasket. They have an extreme parochial purview, living oftentimes insular and isolated lives.
Types #1 and #4 are extremes and in the minority; a large percentage of people can be classified as types#2 and #3. The type#1 of person are often on the cutting edge, and often criticized and viewed as outsiders and beyond the pale. They are the ones who down the road, other people see HOW ON TARGET and CORRECT the former are.
Types #2 and #3 people are security conscious, they follow the crowd and conform because they fear disapproval from others. These people want to be what is deemed to be ACCEPTABLE and NORMAL in the eyes of others. They may want to live more fiercely and fearless but they do not want to be ostracized by others, prefering to live the life that others preordained for them. One can say that they lead very gray and nondescript lives.
Type#4 people avoid modernity as much as possible. At the most, they view modernity as a noisome inconvenience to be just barely tolerated. They see modern life in its aspects to be wrong. They prefer to live in a way that is according to a preordained law and morality, no more no less. Let's discuss this.
And...? This is an observation but not really a point of discussion.... it's sort of like saying, "I like purple!" and expecting people to respond....
This post is under construction. I am saving it as I type because my computer is acting up. I will finish this post shortly and anyone who wish to can respond.
Im sincerely hoping you just added those pics in or my ability to observe details is worse than ever before.

-I asked this question in a previous forum post and didn't get any responses. I shall try again. lol -Why would God use divine intervention to write/influence the bible and not use divine intervention to save innocents from dying?

Should I Forgive Anyboby? This is an interesting and common question in our daily life. You might been hurted so bad that you did swear never to forgive as long as you're alive seeing that person. When people hurt us, we have a tendency to become bitter but I've strongly observed the negative...

Why do religious people often insist that religion is what creates moral behavior? As an agnostic/atheist who works hard to do the right thing every day I find this insulting and ridiculous. After all, if prayer and religious beliefs equaled morals there would be no controversy with priests...

Do YOU believe that goodness/kindness/morality is an inherent and innatebehavior regardless of whether one is religious or non-religious?

There is nothing more annoying than encountering a pushy, preaching vegetarian sort who criticizes me for being human. I love meat and I won't tolerate people telling me what I can and can't eat. I don't mind a person eating leaves for dinner, but since it's against the natural order of things,...

Insidious And CLEARLY HAVE NO PLACE In Postmodern SocietyWhat gives? This the 21st century. People should have evolved to the point that artificial barriers such as skin color, ethnicity, sexual preferences, and other related issues should be total non-issues. Oh no,...
