Do you think the Haitian people deserved the earthquake?
Many Christians believe God is judging Haiti because they have made a deal with Satan and practice voodoo. What do you think?
I believe that God does deal with his children, however to say that god DID this is simply ridiculous, this world has alot of good within it but unfortuatly alot of bad to, things happen, no one can predict it, pray for them, god has plans for good for his people.
So if Christians think that God inflicted an Earthquake upon Haiti for what have you, then what is their excuse for Hurricane Katrina?
Certainly there are plenty of Christians in the Bible Belt, nor am I missing something? Maybe God doesn't like gumbo? Are these the same Christians who think that God caused 9/11 because women left the kitchen and pursued careers of their own?
And lets tackle this one too. How is it that so many Christians personally know the belief systems of every Haitian? When did being Christian give people clarity to know exactly what people in other countries believe?
Honestly, it's just an excuse for bigots to justify their childish hatred.
If anything the Earthquake has brought out the good in millions of people the world over. I don't believe God caused the earthquake, but I do believe that God is in the hearts of the people who send food and money and do what they can to bring aid to the people of Haiti.
The Haitian people did NOT deserve the earthquake nor is it God's punishment on them for practicing voodoo. God does not inflict natural disasters on people killing thousands; injuring many thousands more; and making the majority of people homeless.
Many Christians are "christian" in name only. The type of thinking that believes God would kill, injure and/or maim innocents proves this.
I know absolutely no Christians that believe that. I heard that Pat Robertson said that, which is quite different.
Haiti is probably no more evil than any other country, just more poor and less educated than most. If this was caused by the wrath of God I’m sure it would have been more widespread as every country has their share of evil behaviours.
I think that's a ludicrous idea. It's talk like this which makes me very aware of part of the reason I cannot cling to any sort of religion.
I am an atheist, and I have compassion for a people who are in a difficult situation, and need help. Isn't that what Christians are supposed to do?
I don't think Haiti deserved the earthquake. So many people have died from it. I have never heard that before, but God doesn't want his people to hurt, so he did not judge them and cause the earthquake on them. What happened to them is terrible and if it happened to anyone else, people would still be saying "Is God judging them? Is He cursing them?" No, God isn't as evil as some people think.
No, the Haitian people do not deserve the earthquake.
The beliefs of Christians that God is judging Haiti for what they may be doing is false.
Let us try to understand God greatness and if you do not mind let me describe what God could be like.
Even though believer are lead to believe that God is vengeful, I do not believe that an omnipotent God needs to be vengeful, therefore the vengeful part has been added from religious leaders to control the masses.
So, Haiti earthquake happened just because it happened.
I Wonder, what kind of question is this....?
I apologise beforehand and hope you pardon me...but please tell me..'DO YOU THINK .That ..You deserve one tight slap on your face or your home robbed and your family killed...at any point of time in your life?..or do you expect it...if you do not..I guess...that answers the question.
i don't think so,it is a very serious geological disasters, some person who lost his familyhurt his heart so you have to endow with the Haitian people, our god bless you, amen!!!!!!!!

Why does it seem most Christians are immature. It seems most people professing to be Christian do not have a proper grounding in the scriptures. They drink the milk but do not seem to be able ( or maybe no desire?) to eat the real meat- understand the deeper things of God, in spite of the fact...

Atheism only means the lack of a belief in God. Why is it so hard for Christians to realize that we dismiss their religion for the same reasons that they dismiss all other religions? It doesn't make us horrible people, immoral, or mean that we are going to hell. It just means that we think the...

Why Are So Many Christians Running From The Hurricane Here In Florida? The United States is said to be a Christian nation. If that were true, it seems people would be running toward the hurricane instead of away from it. After all, a hurricane provides a direct route to heaven. I'm staying...

Sodom wasn't smited for homosexuality (false-idol worship, poor treatment of strangers and the poor, gang rape). Leviticus doesn't matter (old covenant, pork, lobster, tattoos, mixed fibers, period sex, swearing). Paul was talking about vastly different subjects (lust, guilt, boy...

How is it fair to judge one group by the actions of a few, but not others? For example, there have been Christian people here who paint all atheists the same. they point to the few who put up hateful billboards and say that is an example of how atheists are. We aren't and I find those signs...
