what are the qualifications for working in medical billing and coding?
You don't need a degree to start a billing or coding career. A vocational career training program from an accredited school will provide the foundation of knowledge you need. (Just make sure this school is accredited by an organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.) The program will typically take you less than 18 months and cover all of the areas you need to know in your career. Additionally, you should choose a medical coding program - such as that offered by Allied Medical School http://medicalcodingcourses.com/ - that prepares you to take the certification exam. For example, your coding education should prepare you to sit for the AAPC examination. Certification will give you a leg-up in your career as well as demonstrate to potential employers your high-level of knowledge.
As long as you have a training and certification, you are good to go as a medical biller. To know more about medical billing certification, visit us at http://advantmedicalbilling.com/medical … ification/
