Thank You for taking the time to answer the question. The answer is  "Tonto". " Kemosabi"  is what Tonto called the Lone Ranger.

    Cybersupe is correct,

Tonto was the sidekick played by real native American Clay Silverheels who incidently was a one time quick draw specialist with a Colt 45.

As was Michaael Landon ( little Joe Cartwright in Bonanza.)

"Tonto" is the name you are looking for.  It is also interesting to note that the Lone Ranger seemed to always think it was Tonto's job to head into town and check things out.  It never failed, when Tonto went into town, the bad guys always beat him up and left him to limp back out the camp. Thanks. WB

Wayne -- the name "Tonto" (the Lone Ranger's sidekick) means "dummy" or "stupid" in Spanish.  So that is why he went into town to get beat up.
