You may also use a digital voice recorder or device that records voice into a digital format. I'd only do this if you can get out of bed away from any other sleeping individuals. The pen, paper, and a flashlight work the best. Also draw objects and other significant visuals from the dream in very basic shapes. List colors, sounds, names of people you saw, feelings, textures. You will recall all the details later on.
