    what kind of data do you want, historical, demographic data? I think the best place for you to go is the local library and research about historical demographic data about children during those times. Approach a local elementary teacher - history teacher and ask her about your topic.

    how about a look at the children of native americans growing up during the genocide of an indigenous population. Plenty of material there. Search Indian massacres and indian removal and re settlement of north america by US govt... just a thought
