What are the options for those who do not score well in the IIT JEE results 2011?

My brother has taken the iit jee 2011 entrance exam. Even though he is pretty confident of cracking the exam, I want to make sure that he is well informed about the options he has, in case his performance is not upto the mark. I am sure there are a lot more options available to Engineering aspirants other than iits. Can anybody help me with this? Also, any idea about the announcement date for iit jee results 2011?

There are several options for those who fail to qualify in IITJEE. Your brother can opt for any good NIT if he scores well in AIEEE. Delhi Technological University (formerly DCE) is also a good choice. DCE admits students based on their performance in AIEEE. However, 80 or 85% admissions in DCE are reserved for students of Delhi. Beside these choices, BITS Pilani and BIT, Mesra, Ranchi , are also very good institutions. Even if one fails to get admitted in any of the above institutions, there are several other Govt. and private institutions that offer good education.

Undoubtedly, Indian Institute of Technology is one of the top institute in the field of engineering & technology, but sometimes students have failed to crack IIT JEE exam as conducted by IIT's, but still there are no of reputed engineering colleges other than IIT's.

Some of the good reputed colleges are -

    1. NIT - National Institute of Technology
    2. BITS Pilani
    3. Anna University
    4. Delhi College of Engineering
    5. SRM Institute of Science & Technology, Chennai
    6. PIET's College of Engineering, Pune

But to get admission in above list of colleges, students will have to appear for other engineering entrance exams like - AIEEE, BITSAT & many other exams - VITEEE, ORISSA JEE etc which is conducted by various engineering colleges for admission in their institutes.

IIT has their own official site, so students who are waiting for IIT JEE 2011 results can check the site for date on which IIT JEE 2011 Results announced. Read the below article and find best alternative options other than IIT's -

Can I know of some other educational sites  because sometimes sites have blocked due to of heavy traffic on site when results are out.
