A nautical mile is a measurement of distance at sea. It is equivalent to 1852 metres which is approximately 1.15 miles.
Thank you. A very useful answer. Also something I found out about it is one nautical mile is on minute of one degree so if you are at the equator then the number of nautical mils is 360X60=21,600 nautical miles.
