Who and what started time as we know it? They made a sun dial and said "It is now 2 dots pass!"
I feel silly, but what if the REAL time is 4 min. passed? Etc.
Off the top of my head I believe "hours" were invented by egyptians to measure when people should start and finish work. They used shadows from the light of the sun to measure it. For some reason they liked measuring things in 12's.
