Do you think we've abused our knowledge?
I believe we were given the ability to discover but wonder if we've surpassed the intent of what we've discovered.
This is way to deep for me..........What else you got?????????????????????
After reading your condolences hub, I find that hard to believe...give it a shot.
I believe that the traits of a human being - that is, our over-confidence, our thinking that we are superior to everything on this planet, our selfishness etc. - combined with our advanced intellect means that we have indeed come to 'abuse' our knowledge, as you say. For example, man became clever enough to design advanced technology, but it is this technology which is destroying the Earth. And despite being aware of this, we continue to produce such products because we feel good about ourselves for having 'achieved' such a task. This is abuse of knowledge. Knowledge should be used wisely, carefully and in the right situations.
I am not religious, but I remember my Nanna used to always say: 'It says in the Bible that man will destroy the Earth...'. Maybe it was right?

We can build atomic bombs, particle accelerators and highway systems that span continents. But is this the height of civilization? What about places like the Giza Pyramid complex? We can't even match that given the technology we have today. Egyptologists make claims that the pyramids were built...

Is it really that odd to think we are not the most advanced species out there?

Are humans truly more advanced or civilized than animals?Despite our big heads, and our advancements in technology, how are we any better than beasts? Animals live as part of the planet, only taking what they need, yet we continue to take until there's nothing left.

I have been trying to find a term for someone who is neither theist, atheist, or agnostic. For the longest time, I have considered myself an agnostic, but I'm not sure if that's the best definition. To me, a more suitable term would be an "eclectic" but I rarely see that term. I believe...

When does a slap become abuse?I understand that no one should be abused but I believe in today's society, everyone is quick to categorize events into lifestyles. If a husband is subjected to physical and emotional abuse by his wife, he is expected to stand there and take it because if...
