Have we, as a race, changed fundamentally over the last 200 years? Can we change?
We have new gadgets, medicines, modes of transport, and a host of conveniences and lifestyle support systems but are we fundamentally the same ?
I don't believe so. Human nature is something that can be molded by the environment in most cases. A few leaders change the paradigm, and then people teach it to their kids, who see it as "common sense" and the situation continues indefinitely.
Yes - in the 1800's we were much different. Our whole life now consists of technology, TV's and electronics. We're more tolerant to different race's, animals and the environment. We're less religious and more people are moving into atheism and faith of science. We cannot catch diseases we could 200 years ago.
