Ever fought so hard for something that felt like a battle you couldn't win?

What was it and what strategies did you use to get it or were the sacrifices to painful and many that you decided to walk away?

Over twenty years ago I peacefully prayed, sidewalk counseled and picketed to end abortion in my city.  Babies are still being killed, but the battle can't stop.  I was sued, along with scores of other activists, under anti-trust laws in a major first amendment case and my family faced losing everything (which wasn't much at the time, but it was all we had) but our faith.  It was painful, but pain is better than the regret over not standing up when you have the chance.  God saved us and eventually He will stop the killing, too.
