What Items Should Be In A Doomsday Preparedness Kit?
What is the expert advice, in the case of a world-wide catastrophe, such as nuclear war, solar flare or an extinction level event, what would be the most important items in a Doomsday Preparedness Kit?
Water, food, flashlight, batteries, first aid-kit... pretty much any of the same stuff you would need in a kit for any crisis. Other than some basic things.. you can't really prepare for much else since you really don't know what's going to happen or what you'll end up needing, and you can't carry everything with you.
I have several hubs on emergency kits (for home, car, etc.) and I think some of the things in those would naturally carry over: water, food, flashlight, battteries, first-aid kit. Of course, all of this assumes you will survive th initial cataclysm, and for that you may need something I suggest in my hub on surviving a hurricane or tornado: a safe room or shelter.
